Mnet “Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga” Premiere Date, Host, Mentors, Participants, and more

In January 2021, the forthcoming survival show in the KPop industry, “Girls Planet 999,” was announced. The show will highlight the participants who share a common dream of making their debut in an idol group despite language obstacles and cultural differences.

According to Mnet, more than 13,000 applicants had applied and followed three preliminary rounds that were held starting March. As a result, a total of 99 participants were selected. Thirty-three participants each will represent Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, and they will compete to the finals.

The Logo & Subtitle meaning “Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga”

The “Girls Planet 999” logo is a Venn diagram with three circles circling a center circle. It means people from across cultures who share the same dream will meet at “Girls Planet,” which refers to a venue where K-Pop connects girls from all over the world. While the subtitle “The Girls Saga” portrays a fantastic story amongst the participants.

Schedule

Mnet’s global project “Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga” will premiere on August 6 and it will air on Fridays for a twelve-episode span.

Host & Masters

The ‘Nation’s Little Brother’ and Hotel Del Luna’ star, actor Yeo Jin-goo will be the show host. While the KPop masters in Mnet “Girls Planet 999” show are from the second generation of Kpop girl group, Sunmi and Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany.

Moreover, there are four other mentors who are Vocal and Dance Masters in Mnet “Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga” show . For Dance Masters, there are Baek Koo Young and Jang Juhee. Vocal Masters are Lim Hanbyul and Jo Ayoung.

Participants

There are three groups. Thirty-three participants each will represent South Korea, China, and Japan. Some well-known trainees include CLC’s Choi Yujin, Cherry Bullet’s Bora and Jiwon, Huening Bahiyyih (TXT Kai’s sister), and Roada Xu Ziyin (‘Youth With You 2’s’).

The Winner

The top contestants will form their own girl group, which will make their debut later. Global audiences will be able to vote for their favorite K-pop contestants through NCSOFT’s new platform called UNIVERSE.
