Instead, K believed that the main cause of Kim Sae Ron death was due to the issue between the late actress and her New York husband, as well as her family.

In the exclusive interview, THE FACT invited K for an in-depth story behind Kim Sae Ron death issue. According to THE FACT, the ex-boyfriend K was the person whom Kim Sae Ron emotionally relied on and communicated with until just before her death.
Based on K’s testimony, THE FACT revealed that Kim Sae Ron had reportedly met a New York man in November 2024 and married him in early 2025. However, this marriage caused her to suffer even more. She then sought emotional comfort from her ex-boyfriend, K. Yet, this then resulted in a painful triangle relationship.
Kim Sae Ron had broken up with the ex-boyfriend before meeting the New York husband. She only resumed contact with the ex for some consolation after suffering from an abusive marriage.
Allegedly, the New York husband of Kim Sae Ron was abusive both physically and verbally. And when he found out that Kim Sae Ron was still in contact with her ex-boyfriend K, it became a huge issue. The New York husband then took her phone away, started monitoring her actions, and verbally abused her even more.

Along with the statement, K submitted a signed and stamped statement to THE FACT. He also wrote his Korean social security ID to back up his credibility, dated on March 25, 2025.
Then, he shared an audio recording of Sae Ron from the hospital. Kim Sae Ron said in the recording that she needed surgery that would cost around 5 million won (about $3,400 USD). But instead of reaching out to her family, she called a friend for help.
“All the tendons and ligaments in my arm are torn. It’s pretty bad, and I need surgery. But insurance won’t cover it, so I need about 5 million won.”

On the same day, March 25, Director of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association Kwon Young Chan delivered statement representing Kim Sae Ron’s family in a phone interview with Newsis and No Cut News.

On those two occasions, Sae Ron, who had attempted suicide nearly 20 times, didn’t tell her family out of guilt. She feared of worrying her mother, who worked nights and slept during the day. The CEO even reprimanded her manager, Mr. B, for failing to notify her family.
Mr. K claims that Sae Ron deeply relied on him and suffered because of her family. But they only dated for a month, which makes those claims highly implausible.
In truth, her mother had given up her career to manage Sae Ron since her child acting days. Kim Sae Ron’s mother had long opposed both her transfer to GOLDMEDALIST and her relationship with Kim So Hyun. This then strained their bond and explained the love-hate dynamic they shared over 25 years.
