“Untold Scandal”
The 2023 Korean film “Untold Scandal,” directed by Lee Jae Yong, known for “My Brilliant Life,” is based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’s French novel “Dangerous Liaisons” (“Les Liaisons Dangereuses”).
Set in the Joseon era, it revolves around a complex love game. The story unfolds when the famous seductress Lady Cho and the well-known playboy Jo Won play a dangerous love game. They aim to ruin the life of Madam Suk, a virtuous widow who will be the concubine of Madam Cho’s husband.
The movie features top Korean actors, including Lee Mi Sook, who portrayed Lady Cho. Meanwhile, Bae Young played Jo Won, and Jeon Do Yeon played Madam Suk.
With its top cast lineup and intriguing narrative, the film attracted over three million moviegoers. In addition to its success, the movie won multiple awards domestically and internationally.
