Remember Kpop’s latest scandals related to former RIIZE Seunghan? What about aespa’s unexpected Coachella issues? And the notorious school violence case involving former LE SSERAFIM Kim Garam? Apparently, recent revelations from the South Korea National Assembly revealed that HYBE was possibly behind every major Kpop controversy happening lately. But was it true, though? Let’s find out more in the complete report below.
Korea National Assembly Revealed HYBE Defamatory Records Against Rival Artists
Recent reports from the South Korea National Assembly reveal that HYBE has been tracking its rival artists with severe defamatory records.
On October 24, Korean media outlet Sports Kyunghyang posted an exclusive report, disclosing partial reports from the official “Weekly Music Industry Report” for HYBE executives. This report was a part of the comprehensive parliamentary audit at the South Korea National Assembly.
According to the Korean media outlet, the shocking report was about the company’s subjective evaluation of idols from other agencies. It includes critiques of their appearance, private life controversies, and performance skills, compiled in a report format.
These details were reported weekly by a former music critic, A, who is currently the editor-in-chief of Weverse Magazine, published by HYBE’s subsidiary, Weverse Company.
A Reported Weapon Strategy to Defend HYBE Artist with Counter Black Campaign Against the Rivals
Yet, what makes it appalling is that instead of an objective evaluation, the report actually contains defamatory remarks against these rival artists.
HYBE’s Defamatory Remarks on the Weekly Report
- “Is being young everything? They debuted a bunch of members at an awkward age where they all look unattractive, and they’re performing like it’s a middle school talent show rather than a proper idol stage.”
- “The other members are surprisingly unattractive, which explains why the group hasn’t succeeded.”
- “The group’s synergy of unattractiveness is barely tolerable.”
- “There’s buzz about SM Entertainment’s new girl group, with about eight candidates shortlisted. Surprisingly, none of them are pretty. It makes one wonder if the trainee infrastructure is weaker than XXXXXX. Thinking back to the shock about their looks when SM debuted another group, it seems like SM’s aesthetic standards have changed.” (A comparison to HYBE’s “R U NEXT”)
- “Most attacks on XXX can be defended with XXX. If someone says a member is ugly, counter with past photos of XX, and if someone says XX can’t dance, show how awkward XX still is. This pattern is well-known in online communities like DC Inside.” (Against a group from SM Entertainment – reportedly between TWS and RIIZE.)
- “Some of the members who left ○○○○ have had so much plastic surgery that they are almost unrecognizable. It’s clear they’ve been in an environment where they faced extreme mental pressure for a long time, which especially shows in their appearance and sex appeal.” (Against JYP girl group).
- “The company’s excuse for group ○○ ○’s lack of live skills was that they didn’t let the talented ones perform, but this was exposed at Coachella, and the fandom quickly redirected their frustrations elsewhere. SM’s fandom is quick to change the narrative and direction to protect its members. In this case, the company needs to take the fall to shield the idols.” (Allegedly against the performance skills of SM Entertainment’s aespa.)
Derogatory Remarks Instead of Objective Evaluation Even for HYBE’s Own Artists: Similar to Min Heejin’s Statement
Yet, it was even more shocking knowing that HYBE even included these derogatory remarks not only against rival idols but also its own artists. Instead of objectively evaluating their idols, HYBE is creating another controversy by defaming its own artists within the company.
Moreover, South Korea National Assembly also revealed that the report contains negative comments from social media against various Kpop artists not only within HYBE but also other companies. Along with the netizens’ comments, the Weekly Report also included strategies for viral online responses and management plans.
This report was apparently mentioned by Min Heejin on May 24 during her dispute with HYBE.
At the time, HYBE defended:
HYBE is Behind Every Major Controversy Happening Recently: Korea National Assembly Report Revelation
And yet, more reports from Korea National Assembly only revealed that HYBE may be behind every major Kpop controversy happening lately.
Allegedly Sabotaging RIIZE
The reports in the Korea National Assembly audit mentioning SM Entertainment group made fans suspicious that HYBE is behind the recent controversy involving Seunghan.
wait hold on.. so hybe was behind all of these riize past photos??? including seunghan? 😳 https://t.co/j5ktmIlBPT
— ᴇʟᴇᴀ (@imnoteleanor) October 24, 2024
So seunghan suffered all of that because of HYBE's obsession with beating SM ? https://t.co/6tGUjX8upg

Leading the Hate Train Against aespa
Along with the previous mention at Min Heejin’s press conference, Korea National Assembly report allegedly confirmed the intense obsession of HYBE with SM Entertainment artist aespa.
Hence, HYBE is leading the hate train using every possible controversy against the group.
So hybe behind Coachella/Girls hate train for aespa… I wonder what they felt after aespa released Spicy and reverse the public opinion in their favor again…pic.twitter.com/OSn6rVkxYa https://t.co/xkxw03y0Ye

HYBE Allegedly Orchestrated Every Major Kpop Controversy, Especially Source Music Trainees
What’s appalling is that fans are suspicious that HYBE has been orchestrating every major Kpop controversy recently. That is especially concerning after knowing that former RIIZE Seunghan had possibly trained under Source Music before becoming an SM Rookie.
Therefore, the recent major controversy related to Source Music trainees (Seunghan, NewJeans members, even Kim Garam) had all been allegedly orchestrated by HYBE.
seunghan, newjeans, youngseo, and garam all being former source trainees who had harmful video/images of themselves being leaked
— bee 𖼐꒱ (@j3anies) October 24, 2024
like hybe outright threatened newjeans to not take action against source it’s doesn’t take rocket science to understand what’s going on here 😭 https://t.co/vfCR4r1iws
someone pointed out that three soumu trainees (SH, Garam and someone from illit(?)) failed to have a successful career due to scandals or hybe's decisions
— lumi || JUSTICE FOR SEUNGHAN (@beanie_wonbinni) October 24, 2024
this does not sounds like a conspiracy now huh
Wait the whole information about the Seunghan “scandal” Hybe must have got because he was a Source music trainee. And when he went to SM, Hybe released it to destroy his career. ITS ALWAYS BEEN HYBE. EVERY EVIL IN KPOP IN THE LAST FEW YEARS IS HYBE RELATED!

HYBE Now-Deleted Statement of the Controversy After Being Scolded at Korea National Assembly Audit
Responding to all these allegations, HYBE has released an official statement that it did not only include negative statements but also positive comments from fans against the abovementioned artists.
Therefore, since the company believed that it had become a victim of public provocation, the company threatened to hold the leakers accountable.
And yet, since the statement came out during the audit, the Korea National Assembly immediately scolded HYBE attending representative Kim Tae Ho. He is the COO of HYBE and CEO of BELIFT LAB, the label that previously released a video against ILLIT’s plagiarism.
Hence, HYBE COO Kim Tae Ho immediately apologized for the controversy surrounding the statement.
