Downtown Boys American Rock Band Points Out Concept Photo Plagiarism
Previously, on August 24, an American rock band, Downtown Boys, stated that one of the posters in NCT 127 concept photo design looked very much similar to one of their own. After all, Downtown Boys released the poster back then in 2016.

NCT 127 Concept Photo Plagiarism, How is it Possible?
According to the outsourced design company, their designer was a fan of Downtown Boys. They thought that the graphic would fit the mood of the NCT 127 concept photo as the background. Therefore, they modified the poster as a homage.
“When we were commissioned the art design for the group’s content, we thought of placing various artwork images on the walls for the concept of a room decorated by university students. The company’s designer employee, who had been a fan of Downtown Boys, knew about the existence of the original graphic. They thought it would fit the photo’s mood when used as a background prop for the project. Through the modification process, they thought the graphic would take the form of a homage. But ultimately, it has caused damage to Downtown Boys and the original graphic designer’s artwork.”

“In the future, we will thoroughly inspect our work prior to release to prevent something like this from occurring again. Once again, we bow our heads in apology to everyone.”
