It happened after 30 people reportedly fainted at the scene. According to the report, they decided to stop the concert midway for the safety of the audience.

What REALLY Happened: A Crowd Crush Issues
On the day of the concert, fans’ excitement was beyond expectations as many flocked to the venue in Jakarta. Previously, the concert tickets immediately sold out, and they even had to add a second schedule specially for Jakarta fans.
Most concerts in Indonesia usually have two types of seating arrangements. And NCT’s was no different. The first are the places where the audience can sit comfortably while watching the concert. However, this location usually has quite a distance from the stage.
The second type is where fans can enjoy a much closer look at the idols. They can get a full close-up experience near the stage where the artists perform. However, it requires the fans to stand up during the whole show.
On the day of the Jakarta concert, chaos started happening after NCT 127 performed their song “Paradise”. All the 9 members walk around the stage while throwing signed balls for the fans. And that was when people at the back of the standing crowd began moving toward the stage. As a result, these people pushed the people in front, causing them to get crushed between the crowds.
Members of NCT 127 immediately noticed what happened and stopped their performance. They gently asked the fans to take steps back because the people at the front were experiencing difficulties.

Fans Were Unwilling to Take Step Back, Resulting in People Fainting at NCT 127 Concert in Jakarta
Furthermore, local media reported a fan’s testimony of the experience they felt during the crowd crush issues at NCT 127 Jakarta concert.
According to the anonymous testimony, they had received warnings before the concert started that some fans would push their way when members of NCT 127 walked closer to them. Therefore, while the audience was already crowded even before the accident, the situation got worse after fans at the back started pushing their way toward the front of the stage.
“It was already crowded from the start. I feel like being crushed between people. I could not move at all because the people at the back started pushing towards the front. Even when people told them to step back, they kept on pushing.”
