Netflix had announced that prominent actors Ryu Seung Ryong, Ahn Jae Hong, and Kim Yoo Jung are confirmed to be cast in the forthcoming new Korean drama “Chicken Nugget,” which is based on a popular webtoon, “Sweet and Sour Chicken.”

Reunion of Director Lee Byung Hun, Ryu Seung Ryong, Ahn Jae Hong, and Kim Yoo Jung
On September 30, Netflix announced Ryu Seung Ryong, Ahn Jae Hong, and Kim Yoo Jung will be starring in Netflix original series “Chicken Nugget.” And director Lee Byung Hun will be directing the upcoming comedy mystery. Some of his famous dramas are “Extreme Job,” Be Melodramatic,” Unicorn,” Again My Life,” and more.

“Chicken Nugget” is a Korean drama based on a webtoon “Dak Gang Jeong” or “Sweet and Sour Chicken” created by Park Ji Dok. It was serialized on Naver Webtoon from 2019 to 2020.
The project will be the reunion of director Lee Byung Hun with Ryu Seung Ryong and Ahn Jae Hong. Previously, director Lee Byung Hun worked with Ryu Seung Ryong in “Extreme Job” in 2019.
Meanwhile, the director also worked with Ahn Jae Hong in “Be Melodramatic” in 2019.
Moreover, in the upcoming drama, actor Ryu Seung Ryong will reunite with Kim Yoo Jung after their CF.
Ahn Jae Hong will play the character of Go Baek Jung. He is an intern at “All the Machine” company and secretly falls for his boss’s daughter. Meanwhile, actor Ryu Seung Ryong will play the character of Choi Sun Man, the CEO of “All the Machine” company. In addition, Kim Yoo Jung, who will be making a special appearance, will play the role of Choi Min Ah, the CEO’s daughter.
“Chicken Nugget” Synopsis
One day, Go Baek Jung received a new machine from his client and decided to install it in his office. Then, Choi Min Ah thought it was a fatigue recovery machine and was attracted by the machine. However, she suddenly disappeared after she entered the mysterious machine, leaving only a sweet and sour chicken nugget.
Later, Go Baek Jung and Choi Seon Man discovered their client did not send the machine. So, they decided to treat the chicken nugget as Choi Min Ah and keep her in a safe place.
The CEO and Go Baek Jung investigated the chicken nugget. They met many “experts” and even went to meet an Indonesian monkey who can interact with food. There was no doubt, the monkey confirmed, that Choi Min Ah had transformed into a piece of a chicken nugget.
As reported, the production of the “Chicken Nugget” series will begin this coming November with 12 episodes. In addition, it will be available on Netflix.
