Netflix “Romantic Anonymous” First Look
The upcoming rom-com drama series on Netflix, “Romantic Anonymous” (literal title), has unveiled its first still featuring its lead cast lineup: Oguri Shun, Han Hyo Joo, Yuri Nakamura, and Jin Akanishi.
Production
Shô Tsukikawa, famous for directing romantic hits like “Let Me Eat Your Pancreas” and “The 100th Love With You,” will direct the series. Okada Yoshikazu, known for “The Last 10 Years,” and Kim Ji Hyun, renowned for “Splash Splash Love,” will team up for the script.
Moreover, other talented crew members will participate in this upcoming series. Lee Ha Jun (“Parasite“) is in charge of designing the chocolate boutique set, a key element in the story. Yang Jin Mo (“Parasite”) will be the editor. Dalpalan, an award-winning music director, will be responsible for the music.
In addition, the upcoming series marks YONG FILM’s debut in Japanese series, a studio acclaimed for its diverse and skillfully crafted projects such as “Believer 2,” “The Call,” “20th Century Girl,” and “My Name is Loh Kiwan,” also available on Netflix.
According to the report, Netflix’s upcoming drama series is currently in production in Japan. Additionally, Netflix will exclusively release the new romantic comedy-drama series worldwide in 2025.
Storyline
“Romantic Anonymous” is an upcoming romantic-comedy series inspired by Jean-Pierre Améris’s charming film “Les Émotifs anonymes.”
The series explores the charming love story between a man and a woman, brought together by their love for chocolate. However, they struggle with their own anxiety disorders. The man fears physical contact due to germophobia, while the woman finds it difficult to make eye contact as she is scared of interaction with other people. Their budding relationship is a mix of heartwarming and uniquely complex.

Oguri Shun as Sosuke Fujiwara
Sosuke Fujiwara is the son of a prominent candy company owner. Now, he is the new owner of a famous quaint chocolate shop called “Le Sauveur.” His fear of germs, caused by his traumatic past, makes his new job challenging.
Han Hyo Joo as Hana Lee
Hana Lee is a talented chocolatier who hides her identity from everyone at Le Sauveur, except the owner. She struggles with her fear of social interactions.
Yuri Nakamura as Irene
Irene is well-known as a psychologist and writer. She is Sosuke’s primary doctor, who helps with his health issues, and Hana’s counselor, who guides her through her difficulties. Although Irene excels in her profession, she deals with her own struggles with alcoholism and relationships.
Jin Akanishi as Hiro Takada
Hiro Takada is the owner of a bar called “Brush” and has been friends with Sosuke since their school days. Hiro had a close relationship with Hana’s mentor, the previous owner of “Le Sauveur.” Hana has a secret crush on him.

South Korean prominent actress Han Hyo Joo has starred in many hit Korean dramas and Movies such as “Dong Yi,” “W,” “Happiness,” “The Pirates 2,” “The Believer 2,” and “Moving.” Besides being famous in South Korea, the actress also works internationally in Japan. She starred in Japanese projects like “Miracle: Devil Claus, Love and Magic,” and “The Sun Doesn’t Move.”
