This strategic partnership is set to bring a world of entertainment to Netflix’s Korean subscribers. It will include the highly anticipated new and existing dramas, variety shows, and educational programs from SBS. Furthermore, global Netflix subscribers will be able to enjoy SBS’s popular variety shows such as “Running Man,” “Unanswered Questions,”“Kick a Goal,” and more.
The platform will also offer a selection of classic hits, including “Sandglass,” “Hot Stove League,” and the “The Penthouse: War in Life” series. Additionally, Netflix’s global subscribers can simultaneously watch SBS’s new Korean dramas in the second half of 2025.
According to a recent press release by the local broadcaster, SBS is gearing up for a global expansion. At the same time, Netflix aims to ensure the value of its subscriptions and enhance the subscribers’ experience.
Revolutionizing Global Access to Korean Entertainment
In recent years, Netflix has invested billions of dollars in South Korea’s growing entertainment market, especially movies and TV shows. This significant investment in K-content has expanded the streaming company’s global library and resulted in major successes like “Squid Game,” “The Glory,” and “All of Us Are Dead.”
To ensure that K-content reaches a broader audience, Netflix and SBS will actively promote it through localized marketing campaigns. Moreover, Netflix will also provide subtitles and dubbing in multiple languages, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the show. This inclusive approach aims to cater to a broader audience in the future.
Citing from Netflix, Kang Dong-han, Netflix’s Vice President for Korean Content, shared his insights on the partnership:
“The SBS and Netflix collaboration marks a new milestone in bringing the best of Korean storytelling to the world. We hope that the innovative vision of SBS and Netflix’s passion for Korea will create a new golden age for Korean content that will last the next 100 years and beyond.”
