On May 13, Korean media outlet Ilgan Sports released a report about an exclusive interview with the mother of a NewJeans member. The mother was extremely worried that HYBE conflict and drama with ADOR CEO Min Heejin would be causing more harm to her children. That is most concerning especially after what HYBE planned on doing to the girls.
In the middle of the conversation between HYBE executives and mothers of NewJeans members, HYBE’s CEO Park Ji Won revealed that the company had been getting ready for the group’s future plans. And apparently, it was neither commendable nor believable.
A Long Vacation and New GRAMMY-Winning Producer to Replace ADOR CEO Min Heejin
In the meeting, HYBE CEO Park Ji Won revealed to the mothers that the company is preparing a new producer for NewJeans. This new producer will be on a GRAMMY-winning level, replacing the current ADOR CEO Min Heejin, whom HYBE is getting ready to kick out.
And amid this preparation, NewJeans will be going on an unbelievably long “vacation”, possibly about 1.5 years. According to Park Ji Won, that is the necessary time for HYBE to find and recruit the new GRAMMY-winning producer for NewJeans.
“On the day of ADOR CEO Min Heejin’s press conference (April 25), 3 NewJeans mothers, including myself, visited HYBE. We were worried something significant might happen. So, we thought we could act as intermediaries between HYBE and ADOR.
At the time, CEO Park Ji Won told us, ‘CEO Min hasn’t shared any information about NewJeans’ Tokyo Dome event in June, but we have many professionals who can handle it well.’
He then said they planned to give NewJeans a long vacation after the Tokyo Dome event.
We didn’t ask how long the vacation would be, but CEO Park mentioned that it takes about a year and a half to recruit a Grammy-winning producer, but they would try to do it quickly. So, as we left, we wondered if the long vacation would be about that long and decided to ask about it next time.”

The Future of NewJeans in DANGER Due to HYBE Conflict and Drama
The escalating conflict and drama between HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Heejin have brought terrible outcomes for NewJeans future.
In the history of Kpop, it is extremely rare for a rookie group to go on long hiatus or vacation immediately after debut, even more, when they are a massive hit like NewJeans.
As a comparison, even the global girl group legend BLACKPINK, who is now famous for its very little discographies and late comebacks, was very active during its early years. After all, Kpop groups must maintain their brand, especially at the peak of their popularity.
Therefore, HYBE applying such a long break for NewJeans when the group’s fame is skyrocketing is simply destroying their future. That is especially crucial when the group has just made its debut in Japan.

HYBE: The Statement Only to Provoke Fans’ Anger
Finally, as a response to the interview, HYBE official claimed that the mother only made the statement to provoke anger and controversy from NewJeans’ fans.
Since these parents want to push for Min Heejin’s independence, HYBE claimed they’re trying to gain attention and sympathy from fans. That way, more fans would go against HYBE and defend ADOR CEO amid the escalating conflict and drama.
“Giving a long vacation doesn’t mean putting them on hiatus.
When idols make a comeback, they usually take a break after their activities and then prepare for the next comeback. It’s not about suspending NewJeans’ activities but ensuring they are well cared for and supported to become top artists.
If we were planning a hiatus, why would we talk about producers and production?
This is just an unreasonable claim to provoke fan anger and push for CEO Min’s independence. There is ample evidence related to CEO Min’s breach of trust, and when these are revealed in court, people will understand HYBE’s sincerity.”
