So, does it mean that the lawsuit has now become moot with baseless accusations? Join our discussion below.
Calvin Klein Releases New Ad Featuring Members without NewJeans Group Names
Following the ongoing contract termination dispute with ADOR and HYBE, members of NewJeans Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein have boasted their independent brand power in a new Calvin Klein ad.
On January 25, Calvin Klein shocked the whole K-pop community with new photos featuring NewJeans members. While this may sound given, especially since NewJeans has been the global brand ambassador of this prominent brand, what made it beyond expectation is the omission of NewJeans group name.
In the new photos, the brand used the individual names of NewJeans members: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. Not only that, but fans also noticed that NewJeans official social media went silent and refrained from posting anything related to this new Calvin Klein ad. Even more, Calvin Klein refers to the members as its “new model.”
That is why the public speculated that Calvin Klein has now signed a new business deal with NewJeans members independently without connecting with their former agency, ADOR.
Independent Brand Power Showcase from Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein
With this new ad release—although unofficial yet—NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein have basically showcased that their independent brand power remains strong even without their original group name.
Previously, ADOR had officially filed for an advertising ban injunction against the members. According to ADOR, they did not want to trigger confusion and potential harm to third parties, including advertisers, about the current status of NewJeans members.
After all, after NewJeans members unilaterally terminated their contract, ADOR insists that they remain in the company’s wings until today. Therefore, as the lawsuit continued, it raised concerns about potential limitations on NewJeans members’ activities.
However, NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein rise above the controversies, showcasing powerful independent brands with the new Calvin Klein ad. Immediately after the photo circulated on the internet and social media, fans rallied in support, celebrating the members’ ability to maintain a strong presence in high-profile endorsements.
And with this new brand power showcase, online discussions began questioning the recent advertising ban injunction from ADOR. Because with this new ad, ADOR’s lawsuit against NewJeans members have become moot with baseless grounds.
But what do you think? How far can NewJeans members go without its official group name? Is it only a short-term euphoria for their bravery? Or will they continue dominating the Kpop music industry even after all their controversial path?
