The Korean Business Research Institute has unveiled the top 50 Korean movie star brand reputation rankings for October 2023. Kang Dong Won, renowned for his remarkable performance in “Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman,” claims the top spot as the most popular Korean actor this month. October 2023 Korean Movie Star Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korean Business Research Institute gathered a total of 143,483,487 data points for 50 Korean movie star brands, based on their appearances in TV series, films, and OTT content from September 19 to October 19, 2023. This represents an 18.94% increase compared to the 120,632,402 data points collected for movie star brands in September.
The Institute used these data points for a comprehensive analysis to evaluate the brand reputation index and consumer behavior. They considered critical factors such as consumer engagement, media coverage, interactions, and community awareness indexes for the analysis.
Finally, the institute determined the movie star brand reputation rankings for October based on the brand reputation indexes of each actor/actress. According to the analysis results, Kang Dong Won, Go Yoon Jung, Jo In Sung, Song Joong Ki, and Han Hyo Joo secured the top five positions among Korean movie stars for October 2023.
TOP 5 Korean Movie Stars
1. Kang Dong Won
Korean actor Kang Dong Won recently debuted on the list and claimed the top spot in the movie star brand reputation rankings for October 2023. The link analysis showed that the most commonly associated terms were “handsome,” “transformed,” and “serious.” Meanwhile, the keyword analysis identified top-ranking keywords such as “Dr. Cheon’s exorcism research institute,” “possessed,” and “PSICK Show.” Additionally, the positive rate analysis revealed a positive rate of 83.07%.
Based on the analysis, actor Kang Dong Won earned a participation index of 1,794,149, a media index of 2,397,295, a communication index of 1,995,139, and a community index of 3,741,481. As a result, Kang Dong Won achieved a brand reputation index of 9,928,065 in October.
2. Go Yoon Jung
Go Yoon Jung recently won the Best Newcomer Actress award at the 2023 Asia Content and OTT Awards. The rising actress received this award for her outstanding performance in DisneyPlus’ hit series “Moving.”
According to this month’s analysis, she earned a participation index of 3,222,620 and a media index of 1,979,431. Additionally, she earned a communication index of 1,800,175 and a community index of 2,310,106.
Based on the analysis, she achieved a brand reputation index of 9,312,332 in October. It increased 9.81% compared to her index of 8,480,355 in September. However, despite this increase, the actress dropped to the second position this month.
3. Jo In Sung
This month, Jo In Sung, the star of “Moving,” maintained his position in third place. Based on the analysis, he attained a participation index of 1,035,113, a media index of 1,346,898, a communication index of 1,050,652, and a community index of 2,249,223.
Consequently, Jo In Sung achieved a brand reputation index of 5,681,887 in October. However, this was a 7.34% decrease compared to September’s brand reputation index of 6,132,216.
Furthermore, while there is no additional information available about his upcoming film project “Hope,” the actor will meet with his fans through the reality show “Unexpected Business 3,” which will also feature other “Moving” cast members Cha Tae Hyun and Han Hyo Joo.
4. Song Joong Ki

5. Han Hyo Joo
This month, actress Han Yoo Joo achieved a participation index of 1,052,236 and a media index of 1,360,919. Moreover, she also earned a communication index of 953,697 and a community index of 1,342,472. However, her brand reputation index in October experienced an 11.77% decrease from September, dropping from 5,337,484 to 4,709,324.
