Ok Taecyeon’s Debut in Japanese Film
Many Korean actors have been making waves in global projects recently. Lee Jung Jae stars in “Star Wars,” Han Hyo Joo and Song Joong Ki star in “Romantic Anonymous,” and Lee Se Young stars in “What Comes After Love.” Amidst international opportunities, a new announcement sparks excitement. South Korean actor Ok Taecyeon is taking his first challenge in the upcoming new Japanese film, “Grand Maison Paris.”
On June 18, TBS Japan announced Ok Taecyeon’s role in the upcoming Japanese movie “Grand Maison Paris,” alongside renowned Japanese actors Takuya Kimura and Kyoka Suzuki.
“Grand Maison Paris,” also known as “La Grande Maison Paris,” is an adaptation of a popular Japanese drama series,” Grand Maison Tokyo,” also known as “La Grande Maison Tokyo.” The series was broadcast in 2019 on TBS, Japan.
In the movie, Takuya Kimura plays Obana Natsuki, a brilliant chef, who is confident in his skills, palate, and taste. He is willing to do anything for his cuisine. Kyoka Suzuki plays Rinko Hayami. She works as the sous chef at Grand Maison Paris. She has a great sense of taste and knows a lot about ingredients and cooking.
The film will also reunite the cast members from the drama series like Yuta Tamamori, Ikki Sawamura, Mitsuhiro Oikawa, Kikunosuke Onoe, Sato Kanichiro, Ai Tominaga, Ayako Yoshitani, Anne Nakamura, and Aki Asakura.
“Grand Maison Paris” Storyline
It’s been a while since Grand Maison Tokyo got its Michelin “three stars” in Japan. Obana Natsuki (Takuya Kimura) and Rinko Hayami (Kyoka Suzuki) have started a new restaurant in Paris called Grand Maison Paris. Their big goal is to be the first Asian to win three Michelin stars there.
Obana always dreamed of being the first Asian chef to get three Michelin stars for French cuisine in France. But being a chef in a foreign country is tough, especially when finding top-quality ingredients.
Getting the title of a Michelin “three-star” chef is a dream come true. However, Grand Maison Paris struggled to impress consistently. After a mishap at a fancy event, Obana made a pact with his old mentor to leave the restaurant and France if he can’t nab the three Michelin stars next time.
Can Obana, once a respected chef, conquer the challenges of different countries and achieve the highest Michelin “three stars” with his friends?
Ok Taecyeon’s Character in New Japanese Film “Grand Maison Paris”
Ok Taecyeon, a member of the idol group 2PM, captivates audiences in Korea and Japan with multiple talents in singing, dancing, and acting. He showcased his impressive acting skills in Netflix’s “Vincenzo.” The upcoming movie, “Grand Maison Paris,” will be the actor’s grand comeback to the silver screen. His last performance was in “Hansang: Rising Dragon” movie in 2022.
In this upcoming film, “Grand Masion Paris,” Ok Taecyeon will portray a skillful pastry chef, Rick Yuan. He speaks three languages – Japanese, French, and Korean. He often clashes with Natsuki due to his passion for cooking.
