Park Bo Gum Is in Talks for Lead Role in New Historical Film

According to an exclusive report by Star News on March 21, actor-singer Park Bo Gum has been cast as the lead actor in director Kim Han Nim’s new film.
In response to the casting news, the actor’s agency, The Black Label, stated,
“Park Bo Gum has received an offer to star in the movie “The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf,” and is reviewing it.”

Director and writer Kim Han Nim is a brilliant writer and director. He is the man behind box office films, especially historical action films. His best historical films include “War of the Arrows” (2011), “The Admiral: Roaring Currents” (2014), “Hansan: Rising Dragon” (2022), and “Noryang: Deadly Sea” (2023).
If Park Bo Gum accepts the offer, the film mark his comeback to the big screen after “Wonderland” in 2024. Additionally, it will be an exciting reunion for the actor and director. Previously, director Kim Han Nim and Park Bo Gum worked together on “The Admiral: Roaring Currents,” the most-watched and highest-grossing film of all time in South Korea.
Although he was still a rookie actor and played a small role in the film, his acting stood out. The director and actor have maintained good communication and built a solid relationship since then. Park Bo Gum gained popularity through his performance in the hit series “Reply 1988” in 2015.
About “The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf”
“The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf” takes place two years after Goguryeo’s Pyongyang Palace fall. The story follows a warrior who has lost his memory. He becomes involved in a fierce battle between five factions to seize the Godumakhan Sword, a legendary sword in Goguryeo.
According to the report, the filming is likely to begin production in August this year.
