Park Ji Hoon Eyed for New Webtoon-Based Drama “Kitchen Soldier”
According to an exclusive report by OSEN on February 5, Park Ji Hoon will lead the new Korean drama based on a popular webtoon titled “Kitchen Soldier.” It tells the story of a humble young man who enlists in the military and becomes a legendary chef.

“It is one of the projects that is currently under review.”

Furthermore, director Jo Nam Hyung, who co-directed the hit series “Tale of the Nine-Tailed” and “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938,” will helm the drama, while writer Choi Ryong, who co-wrote KBS Joy’s “Sorry Not Sorry,” penned the script. In addition, Studio N and Studio Dragon will co-produce the series.
Webtoon “Kitchen Soldier”
“Kitchen Soldier,” a.k.a “Becoming a Legend Kitchen Soldier,” is a popular webtoon created by JRobin and illustrated by Lee Jinsu. The series was released for the first time on Naver Webtoon on April 19, 2019.
The story follows Kang Sung Jae, a young man in his 20s, who comes from a low-income family. His mother has passed away, while his father works as a food truck operator. Sung Jae enlists in the military and receives his first assignment as a kitchen assistant.
When he receives his first assignment, a 3D hologram screen suddenly opens with an intriguing title, “The Chef’s Way.” It looks like a cooking-theme role-playing game (RPG) screen, where the players must level up their skills to continue to a higher level. As a rookie soldier, his level is still level 0, and his occupation is a kitchen assistant.

Park Ji Hoon made his acting debut in 2006 with a guest role in the historical drama “Jumong.” He gained recognition with his first leading role in “Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency” in 2019.
Since then, he has appeared in various productions and played various roles. His outstanding acting in the drama “Weak Hero Class 1” earned him the Best New Actor Award at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards.
