On July 23, an entertainment industry insider told JTBC Entertainment News that Park Min Young will take on the lead role in the Korean remake of the Japanese original drama “The Confidence Man JP” (working title).
The Japanese version of “The Confidence Man JP” stars Nagasawa Masami, Higashide Masahiro, and Kohinata Fumiyo.
The story revolves around three clever tricksters who work together to scam greedy people, such as companies or mafia bosses. They use every trick in the book to steal the money. This comical and exciting series became very popular, leading to its adaptation into a movie in Japan. Additionally, it was included in a special program celebrating Fuji Television’s 60th anniversary.
Korean Remake “The Confidence Man”
Director Nam Ki Hoon, renowned for film and drama projects such as “Big Bet” and“Destined with You,” will lead the production. He will team up with writer Hong Seung Hyun for the Korean remake “The Confidence Man.” Writer Hong Seung Hyun is known for works such as “Criminal Minds” and “Cheo Yong.” In addition, the production company, High Ground, has yet to confirm the schedule.
