Park Min Young May Lead the Korean Remake of the Japanese Drama “Siren”
On March 18, JTBC’s exclusive report revealed that Park Min Young will portray the female lead role in the new Korean remake drama “Siren” (working title).
In response to the reports, the actress’ representative stated, “It is one of the projects she has been offered and is currently under review.”
About “Siren”
The name “Siren” was taken from Greek mythology. In Greek mythology, the Sirens were frightening creatures, often described as mix bird and woman. They can lure the sailors with their alluring songs, resulting to shipwrecks and the deaths of the crew.
The upcoming drama is an adaptation of Fuji TV’s 1999 popular Japanese series “Koori no Sekai,” or “Ice World.” This story follows an insurance detective who is on a mission to uncover the mysterious death of a female teacher. The Korean remake will adapt the story to suit the local audiences.

Park Min Young debuted in 2006 with her first drama, “Unstoppable High Kick.” Since then, she has starred in many dramas, particularly in the romance and comedy genres.
If the actress confirms her participation in the upcoming Korean drama “Siren,” it will mark her comeback to the small screen. Additionally, this drama will serve as her second project following “The Confidence Man KR,” a Korean remake of the Japanese comedy drama “The Confidence Man JP.”
