‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ producers beg viewers to stop visiting the houses
On October 5, the production team of ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ released an official statement regarding its filming locations. They ask viewers to refrain from entering the houses of Hye Jin, Doo Shik. Gam Ri, and Cho Hee.
The houses belong to real people
According to the statement, the houses in ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ belong to real people. Moreover, those people still live there. That is the ultimate reason why the drama’s production team asked viewers not to enter the house.
tvN ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ production team statement
The complete statement released by tvN is as follows:
Hello. This is the “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” production team.
We would like to thank our viewers for giving us so much love, and we would like to make one request regarding visits to our filming location.
Hye Jin’s house, Doo Shik’s house, Gam Ri’s house, and Cho Hee’s house in the drama are spaces that we leased for filming purposes for the duration of our shoot, and at the moment, their owners are currently residing in those homes.
They helped our drama out with good intentions, but they are currently suffering disturbances to their everyday lives because of visitors. Therefore, for the reason described above, when you visit our filming location, we ask that you refrain from entering these houses.
Out of consideration for people who want to experience the afterglow of the drama, the city of Pohang will be keeping the squid statue at Cheongha Market and the boat at Sabang Memorial Park even after the end of filming.
Once again, we thank you for giving your love to “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”
‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ filming sites
Houses of Hye Jin, Doo Shik, Gam Ri, and Cho Hee
The houses of Hye Jin, Doo Shik, grandma Gam Ri, and Cho Hee are located close to each other. The houses are located at Guryongpo-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
However, as asked by tvN ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ production team, you can take a look at the houses, but please restrain from entering since real people still live there.
Cheongha Market
Some of the most iconic scenes in ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ happened in Gongjin Market (actual name: Cheongha Market). As mentioned in the statement, you might want to take a picture at the iconic squid statue if you visit the market.
In actual fact, we hear that many shops in and around the Cheogha Market changed their names to include a reference to ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha.’
Boat on the hill
Hopefully, what tvN ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ said in the statement is true that they will keep the boat at the Sabang Memorial Park. Although it remains a mystery how the boat parked on the top of the hill, it is a must-visit ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ filming site.
