A leaked photo of the jungle gym set circulated on the internet, and fans could not believe how flimsy it was. Puma Korea then apologized in an official statement. PUMA Korea Apologized for Causing NCT 127 Members Johnny, Jaehyun, Jungwoo Injured
SM Entertainment announced yesterday that NCT 127 ‘Triple J’ members Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo were injured in a fall accident while filming a commercial. Apparently, the commercial that got the three members injured was of PUMA Korea.
Earlier this year, PUMA Korea selected NCT 127 members as their official ambassadors for its Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Since then, the idols have participated in various advertisements for PUMA Korea’s products, starting from the Slipstream campaign.
It is highly unexpected that a prominent brand like PUMA Korea would make such a mistake, causing three NCT 127 members and its official brand ambassadors to get injured. That is why the company immensely apologized for what happened to the three idols.
On December 10, Korean media reported that PUMA Korea had issued an official apology for causing the accident that injured NCT 127 members Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo. The prominent brand claimed responsibility and apologized to SM Entertainment and fans. And they would make sure to help NCT 127 members Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo recover.
The Accident Also Involved NCT 127 Member Taeil, But He was Okay – PUMA Korea Official Statement
The apology statement also revealed that NCT 127 member Taeil was also there when the accident happened. Fortunately, he managed to escape the misfortune and went home almost unscathed. Even though he suffered minor injuries, Taeil is now resting at home.
Here’s the official statement from PUMA Korea:
“Hello, this is PUMA Korea, and we would like to inform you about our official position regarding the on-set accident involving NCT 127.
Members Johnny, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Taeil, got in an accident due to a problem in the set structure. This problem occurred while filming a commercial for NCT 127, the current active PUMA APAC ambassador.
Immediately after the accident, the three members, Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo, went to a nearby hospital as soon as possible to receive detailed examination results. Fortunately, Taeil suffered minor injuries, and we respect his wishes to return home and rest.
PUMA Korea fully claims responsibility for the accident. We plan to do our best to identify the cause and prevent a recurrence.
We would also like to apologize for causing concern to fans, who must have felt shocked after hearing the news of our beloved artists’ accident, and to the agency, SM Entertainment.
Finally, PUMA Korea will fully cooperate and do our best for the treatment and speedy recovery of NCT 127 members Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo. We will help them recover quickly.”

Finally, a leaked photo of PUMA Korea commercial filming revealed a set that was too flimsy for 4 adults. The jungle gym set appeared to be made of thin materials and without ground bolting like a regular gym structure, making it too dangerous to stand.
This photo came from a staff onsite and appeared before the accident happened.
