Red Velvet is one of the Kpop girl groups that must cancel their tour due to the coronavirus outbreak. As there is no performance for the past few months, recently, their fandom made a Red Velvet online concert to power-up Reveluvs around the world.
KPop Online Concerts
During the lockdown in many countries, many of the Kpop idols carry out their activities by live streams or virtual concerts to keep in touch with their fans. Instance, on April 17 & 18, the agency of the Bangtan Boys made an at-home virtual concert named #BangBangCon.
But unlike BTS’s agency, which managed the online concert, the Red Velvet online concert was operated by Red Velvet’s fandom, ReVeLuvs, in @revecharts team. The online show was done by streaming online together on an online platform, Watch2Gether.
Red Velvet Online Concert
#TheRevecon was held to entertain the ReVeLuvs who are missing Red Velvet’s performance during the home-quarantine. Although it held pass midnight, the fans were still excited to watch it together with other reveluvs around the world.
Realtime Experience with VCR
In Revecon, the fans were watching a playlist of full videos of Red Velvet’s performance on stages and MV. The team also prepared VCRs to give the fans an experience of a real concert.
On the first day, the participants who watched the concert together was more than 3,000 viewers. Meanwhile, the fans who watch the concert on the second day was almost 10 million viewers.
