On October 8, Korean media outlet E-Daily reported the recent outstanding achievement of “Weak Hero Class 1”webtoon adaptation drama.
The Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards 2023 occurred in the afternoon of the same day at the outdoor venue of the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae District, Busan. The ceremony was also available for live online broadcast, streaming numerous outstanding nominees from Asia and worldwide.
At this award ceremony, the webtoon-based Korean drama managed to secure the title as ‘Best OTT Original’. They managed to defeat various promising projects, including “Shadow Detective” by Disney+ and “The Knock Out” by iQIYI.

Along with the prestigious title, “Weak Hero Class 1” delivered more exciting news as the webtoon-based Korean drama finally confirmed its Season 2 release.
The drama’s producer Kim Myung Jin, came up on stage to receive the honor at the award ceremony. He then delivered his acceptance speech, expressing his gratitude to the audience and the author of the original webtoon.
Approaching the end of his speech, producer Kim Myung Jin revealed that he would soon create the next chapter of the story. This statement eventually leads to confirmation of “Weak Hero Class 1” Season 2.
“Last year, when ‘Weak Hero’ joined the Busan International Film Festival screening, I greeted the audience and received immense support and energy. I believe that I was able to come this far thanks to that energy, and so I will use the same energy to create the next chapter of the story.
