September 2023 TOP 50 Individual Kpop Idol Brand Reputation Rankings

On September 26, the Korean Business Research Institute unveiled the brand reputation rankings for individual Kpop idols for September 2023. Jungkook from BTS has clinched the number one spot as the most popular male Kpop idol this month. BTS Jungkook Tops September 2023 Individual Kpop Idol Brand Reputation Rankings

The Korean Business Research Institute conducted an analysis of 60,997,497 big data points collected from 1,720 idol personal brands between August 26 and September 26, 2023, to assess the brand reputation index. This analysis encompassed the consumer’s participation, media, communication, and community indexes for idol personal brands. Notably, this marked a decrease of 37.11% compared to the 96,997,747 brand big data collected in August.

As a result of the big data analysis of idol personal brand reputation in September 2023, BTS’s Jungkook claimed the 1st position, followed by BTS’s V in 2nd place, NewJeans’ Minji in 3rd place, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo in 4th place, and BTS’s Jimin in 5th place. These individuals emerged as the top five most popular Kpop idols in September 2023.

Top 5 Most Popular Individual Kpop Idols

1. BTS Jungkook

• Brand Participation Index of 175,119
• Media Index 1,381,920
• Communication Index 2,017,830
• Community Index 2,365,110

BTS’s Jungkook, who is set to release a solo single titled “3D” featuring Jack Harlow, has secured the top spot. The singer’s brand reputation index has surged by 34.54%, rising from 4,415,051 in August to an impressive 5,939,979 in September.

The institute also conducted a comprehensive analysis of linking words, keywords, and the ratio of positive to negative sentiments in the singer’s data. In the linking word analysis, the institute highlighted terms like “unrivaled,” “cool,” and “contract.” In the keyword analysis, they found strong keywords such as “Billboard,” “Seven,” and “Army.” Additionally, the singer achieved an impressive positive rate of 90.57% in the positive/negative ratio analysis.

2. BTS V

• Brand Participation Index: 191,622
• Media Index: 705,429
• Communication Index: 1,429,265
• Community Index: 1,920,740

V from BTS, who recently released a solo album titled “Layover,” achieved a brand reputation index of 4,247,056. The index marks a 24.24% increase from the previous month’s brand reputation index of 3,418,354. In addition to actively promoting his solo album, the singer currently serves as the Honorary Seoul Tourism ambassador.

3. NewJeans Minji

• Brand Participation Index: 432,076
• Media Index: 1,427,486
• Communication Index: 506,271
• Community Index: 475,111

Minji from NewJeans earned a brand reputation index of 2,840,943. The index represents a 38.46% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 4,616,273 in August. The 19-year-old singer recently graced the cover of Korean Baazar magazine in collaboration with Chanel for the October issue.

4. BLAKPINK Jisoo

• Brand Participation Index: 173,989
• Media Index: 467,102
• Communication Index: 766,454
• Community Index: 1,284,528

Jisoo from Blackpink achieved a brand reputation index of 2,692,073 this month. The index reflects a 24.27% decline compared to the brand reputation index of 3,554,902 in August. After completing BLACKPINK’s world tour, the singer made a stunning appearance at the Dior fashion show in Paris.

5. BTS Jimin

• Brand participation index: 247,321
• Media Index 474,579
• Communication Index 845,631
• Community Index 1,109,113

Jimin from BTS rounded out the top five most popular idols this month with a brand reputation index of 2,676,644. The index represents a 27.09% decrease from the brand reputation index of 3,671,188 in August. 

In recent news, Jimin’s album “FACE” achieved two impressive records. It became the first and fastest album by a Korean soloist to reach 1.150 billion streams on Spotify and also became the most streamed album by a Korean act on the platform in 2023.
