SG Entertainment was founded in 2018 by two French entrepreneurs with experience in startups and entertainment. SG Entertainment’s CEO, Joon-hae Woo, has been working as a producer for over 20 years in the European music industry. Their unique concept enables them to operate SG Academy as well as the production studio. They have announced their establishment and currently is recruiting a four-member KPop girl group.
First KPop Girl Group of SG Entertainment
SG Entertainment is currently recruiting a four-member KPop girl group with excellent skills and visuals and will introduce the trainees to the public later this year.
Meanwhile, SG Academy is taking the lead in providing a curriculum to become experts in the entertainment field and is currently training students in its Creator and Idol Tracks.
SG Entertainment Academy and Agency
SG Entertainment has developed a unique system that adopted the European method by integrating a professional entertainment agency with an academy pursuing creativity and aims to become the world’s first institution of leaders, creators, and visionaries. SG Academy is located in Hongdae, Seoul, and it expects to enroll 200 students after one year of operation.
As an agency, it runs not only the regular production works but also the management of fanbase community. By doing so, they hope the future creators can focus on their artistic work and content creator. Creators will be selected through auditions after professional training.
New Kpop Trend With European System
“We will create a new Kpop trend by introducing a European system that maximizes individuals’ potential based on human values and creativity,” said Joon-hae Woo, SG Entertainment’s CEO. SG Entertainment is the first company that uses Korean-Western style and using the French-Korean pedagogic approach.
For the academy, they use a specialized European music curriculum (no wonder, since the founders are French entrepreneurs). SG Academy has three levels of curriculum. They use hand bands and spark pins to show the students’ level. The silver spark pins should be collected and can be changed to gold spark pins.
