SM Entertainment Controversy Continues: Fans Send LED Trucks to HYBE Building
In the middle of SM Entertainment controversy and silent battle in the trading business regarding SM Entertainment and HYBE issues, SM loyalists decided to take matters into their own hands.
Xports News reported on February 28 that SM Entertainment fans conducted a public protest in front of the HYBE building. Various photos widely circulated on online communities and social media, showing LED truck protests that took place a day before at HYBE office in Yongsan District, Seoul.
According to the report, SM Entertainment fans sent these LED trucks as a form of public protest regarding SM Entertainment controversy and takeover. And the rally went on for about 8 hours.
SM Entertainment’s Fans Expressed Criticism Towards Lee Soo Man and HYBE

Using multiple harsh expressions and language, the LED trucks showed various criticisms towards Lee Soo Man and HYBE. And according to the trucks, they were sent by “numerous SM fans” and “all the fans of SM who oppose HYBE’s monopoly”.
And the messages on the LED trucks were as follows:
- “Interpol-wanted Lee Soo Man, just go plant trees. Do not covet SM 3.0!”
- “Kpop genius, HYBE, take care of your XX, we’ll take care of our XX.”
- “A crazy company that spends 10 billion (KRW) to plant trees for Lee Soo Man, that’s HYBE.”
- “SM fans union are against HYBE’s monopoly. We support SM.”
- “HYBE, we believe in
musicmoney.” - “Do not touch SM artists, and don’t bring slander to HYBE artists.”
- Etc.
Along with the LED truck protests, SM Entertainment fans and loyalists revealed that they conducted the protests because of their deep concerns. These fans became close to one another under the premise of their deep affection toward SM artists.
According to the fans, they have liked SM’s productions since they were still kids. However, SM’s management issue became so severe that Lee Soo Man decided to trade his own stake to his biggest rival, HYBE. Due to this issue, fans were furious and disappointed.
“Lee Soo Man was the person whom our artists always respected as their ‘teacher’. But greed blinded him, and he turned the company into this situation.”
SM Entertainment fans.

The Protests Surprised Korean Netizens
In response to the report, Korean netizens expressed their surprise toward fans’ responses to SM Entertainment controversy.
According to the netizens, what SM Entertainment fans did was sick and directed at the wrong party. - They’re crazy. Why are they taking it out on HYBE?

- They’re sick.
- Cartel actions?
- No matter how much time passes, it’s strange that gangsters’ emotions and mindsets remain the same.
