SM Entertainment announced the first-ever global Kpop audition. Namely “2024 SM NEW GIRL GROUP AUDITION (SMNGG), the audition is in search of members of the upcoming aespa’s little sister.
Join SM Entertainment’s New Girl Group Audition
Online registration for SMNGG opened on June 1 and will be open until June 22. Female-identified applicants (she/they) born between 2005 and 2011 from anywhere in the world are eligible to apply.
First round
Applicants must submit self-introduction, vocal, and dance videos to the Google application form. For the vocal and dance portions, applicants must choose from one of the designated songs.
Second round
After the applicants pass the first round, they will be invited for in-person auditions. Selected applicants will be notified individually of the specific date and location.
Finally, the finalists will have the opportunity to debut as members of SM’s new girl group.
When Will SMNGG Debut?
Last year, it was announced that SM Entertainment would debut a new girl group in 2023. However, in some circumstances, the announcement didn’t come true. Therefore, fans are excitedly looking forward to the SMNGG debut this year.
Additionally, according to the report, the entertainment powerhouse will launch two of its most anticipated projects in the fourth quarter of 2024. SM Entertainment’s first project for this period is most likely the debut of a new 5th generation Kpop girl group.
