Model-turned-actor Song Jae Rim might make a comeback in a new Korean historical drama. After his role in MBC’s The Moon That Embraces The Sun, he has reportedly been offered a role in a new historical action drama titled Queen Woo (literal title), where he would star alongside Jeon Jong Seo.
Actor Song Jae Rim Offered Lead Role in New Korean Historical Drama QUEEN WOO
According to an exclusive report from media outlet News1, Song Jae Rim has been cast for the lead role in the upcoming Korean historical drama, Queen Woo. In April, it was announced that actress Jeon Jong Seo had been cast as the female lead, Lady Woo. However, no details have been revealed yet regarding the character of Song JaeRim.
Set in the Goryeo era, Queen Woo depicts the story of the first queen in Korean history who ascends the throne twice, with two different kings. After the death of her husband, the current king, she struggles to find a new king within a 24-hour time frame.
Furthermore, director Jung Se Gyo will helm the upcoming historical drama series. He is known for his work on Oh! My Gran K-drama. Meanwhile, Lee Byung Hak, the writer behind The Royal Tailor K-drama, will write the script.
Will Actor Song Jae Rim Accept the Offer for QUEEN WOO Korean Historical Drama?
If the actor confirms his role, it will be his second K-drama in 2023 after Bloody Romance. Additionally, it will be his second historical drama after MBC’s The Moon That Embraces The Sun in 2012.
In The Moon Embracing The Sun K-drama, the actor portrayed the role of the loyal guard Chae Woon, which garnered him significant public recognition. The Moon Embraces The Sun is a highly-rated Korean historical drama that also featured Ha Ga In, Kim Soo Hyun, Jung Il Woo, and Kim Min Seo.
However, despite not being the main character, the actor stole the show with his charisma and masculinity. Furthermore, his striking bone structure and long hair added to his charm and made him stand out. Will we see actor Song JaeRim sporting long hair once again in the upcoming drama?

Actors Kim So Eun and Song Jae Rim found themselves caught up in dating rumors once again earlier this month. The speculations arose when both actors shared similar photos of roses on their respective Instagram stories. This came just two months after they were previously rumored to be dating when they were spotted together in Tokyo.
It is worth noting that Kim So Eun and Song Jae Rim had previously worked together. They collaborated on the We Got Married variety show in 2015 and the Our Gab-Soon K-drama in 2016.
However, in response to the recent dating rumors, both agencies representing Kim So Eun and Song Jae Rim have denied the speculations. They stated that it was merely a coincidence and emphasized that the two actors are simply close friends.
