Korean prominent actor Lee Jung Jae to debut in Hollywood series on Disney+, “Star Wars: The Acolyte.” The “Squid Game” star will join the cast lineup as the male lead of the “Star Wars” universe series along with Amandla Stenberg and Jodi Turner-Smith.
“Squid Game” Star Lee Jung Jae to Play in New Disney+ Series “Star Wars: The Acolyte”
According to the report, Lee Jung Jae has been cast for the male lead in the Disney+ series “Star Wars: The Acolyte.” And in the upcoming series, the actor will co-star with Amandla Stenberg and Jodie Turner-Smith. Further, Lucasfilm will produce the series, with Leslye Headland as the director, writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
The upcoming series “Star Wars: The Acolyte” is a mystery thriller about a dark force emerging at the end of the High Republic era. Acolyte is an individual with force abilities who learn under a mastered Sith Lord. Moreover, the filming will start in November in London. And for the first season, the series will have eight episodes. However, currently, there is no further detail regarding Lee’s character in the series.
On September 9 KST, to a Korean media outlet reporter during the ‘Squid Game Day’ declaration event held in Los Angeles, Lee Jung Jae responded to reports of his casting in the new “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte.” The actor stated,
“We will inform you when we receive more specific information about the confirmation [of my casting].”

Actor Lee Jung Jae is one of the prominent actors in South Korea. With “Squid Game,” he turned into a global star with multiple winnings on major awards.
Further, he and other cast members of the “Squid Game” team have recently scored 14 Emmy Awards. Lee himself gets his first-ever Emmy nomination in the lead actor category. Moreover, he and Jung Ho Yeon are joining the presenter lineup for Emmy Awards. The event will be broadcast live today, September 13 (9 AM KST) or September 12 (8 PM ET).
Furthermore, Lee Jung Jae’s directorial debut “Hunt,” which premiered at Cannes Film Festival, was recently acquired by Magnolia Pictures.
