Considering their previous album, ‘ODDINARY,’ successfully topped the Billboard 200 chart and has sold over 1.7 million units, among other achievements, Kpop fans have relatively high expectations for Stray Kids comeback album this October with ‘MAXIDENT’. And Stray Kids seems to have met the expectations by surpassing 1 million album sales in five hours since they release ‘MAXIDENT.’ Moreover, the title track ‘Case 143’ also reveal how Stray Kids members will react when they are in love.
Stray Kids Make a Full of Love Comeback with ‘MAXIDENT’
Fans wondered if Stray Kids would keep their originality or become mainstream when the group announced that their new album is exploring themes of love – something that Stray Kids has shied away from their previous releases.
Fortunately, Stray Kids magnificently keep their originality with a new album about love, ‘MAXIDENT.’ What makes it best is that ‘MAXIDENT’ tells you everything you need to know about Stray Kids: their love of dirty bass lines, their tendency for chaos, their hard-hitting style, and their refusal to stick to any one genre.
“We didn’t know how to prepare for our new album. We’ve received so much love in the thick of our second ‘Maniac’ world tour, and our skills and stage presence improved through that, which we think can show on stage this time. Now, it’s time to return love STAYs gave us.”
Stray Kids Lee Know.

Stray Kids ‘MAXIDENT’ Title Track – ‘Case 143’
The title track ‘Case 143’ is a pop song full of surprises. As the first love-themed release of Stray Kids, ‘Case 143’ express the confusing emotions that come when you are in love. They call the feelings swirling around them an “occurrence of an incident,” and they use code 143 to decipher their love.
Being stroked by heart-shaped characters, the maximum accident of being in love begins. When Changbin aggressively asks, “Can I be your boyfriend?” marks their seriousness in facing their case 143 (aka their love).
The smooth shifting between the cute loving scene with hearts all over the screen to the dusky night when the police officers work on the case gives a fresh and new sensation. ‘Case 143’ music video also showcases Stray Kids members’ superb acting skills.
“We’ve melded a lot of energy, sound transitions (in between melodies) and speed that people think of when they think of Stray Kids. I usually get inspiration from my daily life and the conversations I have with my bandmates. I focused on the love Stray Kids can express while working on the track.”
Stray Kids Han.
The eclectic ‘MAXIDENT’ B-side Tracks
We get more than enough from the rest of the album. The wide-ranging genre of ‘MAXIDENT’ seems to be an experimental release, even for 3RACHA, the group’s producer trio made of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han.
The glitch-hop ‘Give Me Your TMI’ is an old-meets-new song. Initially, 3RACHA wrote this song several years ago, and you can hear fragments of ‘I Am era SKZ’ in some parts. Additionally, its progressive funk gives a fresh and futuristic feeling.
Catchy ‘Super Board’ makes us bop our heads while imagining flying with Stray Kids on a super board. You’ll definitely get addicted to the flying “nyoom” sound.
‘MAXIDENT’ also gives the group’s members more opportunities to further develop their songwriting and production skills.
‘Chill,’ written by Han, introduces a new sound into the group’s diverse canon with its saxophone riffs. And ‘Taste’ (by Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Felix) explore producer Hyunjin’s interest in dark, atmospheric R&B, featuring an outstanding vocal from Felix and Lee Know.
Meanwhile, ‘Can’t Stop’ makes Seungmin and I.N dive head-first into rock. The two youngest members of Stray Kids, working with producer Hong Jisang (DAY6), lift the mood with a cheerful and energetic ode to young love.
3RACHA explains a lot about Stray Kids, one of the mightiest 4th generation Kpop boy groups. Changbin and Han show off their dexterous lyricism, while Bang Chan’s production goes harder.
“Our credit is always the biggest headline
Top of the charts around the world
…
I don’t care whatever they say,
keep on tease
It seems my inspiration never decreases”
Bang Chan’s line makes this song more prolific, “Masterminds, the perfect trio bound by blood / Musketeers of making music, one for all, and all for one.”
