Stray Kids Makes MULTIPLE Debut at #1 on Billboard 200 and Other Charts This Week with “ODDINARY” and “MANIAC” + Thanked Ryan Reynolds During Interview
The 4th gen Kpop leader and representative finally make their sensational debut at #1 on Billboard 200 chart this week with “ODDINARY” and “MANIAC”. The best thing is that they didn’t make their debut on just one but MULTIPLE charts from the prominent US-based record ranking site.
And during their debut interview with Billboard Executive Director Jason Lipshutz, Stray Kids thanks their newly-found big brother, Ryan Reynolds.
Stray Kids Placed #1 on Billboard 200 Chart This Week with “ODDINARY” Mini Album
On March 29, the million-selling group, Stray Kids finally made their very first sensational debut at #1 on Billboard 200 chart this week with their “ODDINARY” mini-album.
Billboard 200 is a dedicated ranking chart compiled by Luminate (formerly P-MRC Data). It ranks the most popular albums of the week in using US-based multi-metric consumption. And the company did it by measuring by the equivalent of album units.
Stray Kids has made their very first debut by beating other best-selling albums from other prominent artists and titles, including Encanto, Juice WRLD, and Lil Durk. With this debut, Stray Kids becomes the THIRD Korean artist to ever make this accomplishment after BTS and SuperM.
“ODDINARY” Ranks at #1 on Top Album Sales Chart
In addition to its first-ever debut at #1 on Billboard 200 chart, Stray Kids had also achieved the biggest sales for albums sold in the US up until this point.
According to the Luminate company, during the ending week of March 24, Stray Kids “ODDINARY” had achieved a total of 110,000 equivalent album units. Reaching 103,000 traditional album sales in total, Stray Kids “ODDINARY” has surpassed album sales of all artists during 2022 so far.
Besides, “ODDINARY” has also reached 6,500 streaming equivalent album units (SEA). It means that Stray Kids “ODDINARY” has gained 10.09 million on-demand audio streams during the week.
Stray Kids RETURNS at #1 Top Artist 100 After “MANIAC” Title Track
Not only has Stray Kids made their debut at #1 for BOTH Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales charts, they have also become Billboard #1 Top Artist 100 of the week ONCE AGAIN, especially after their breathtaking “MANIAC” title track.
Defeating powerful, prominent competitors like Doja Cat and Ed Sheeran, this is Stray Kids SECOND non-consecutive entry at #1 Billboard Top Artist 100 chart. As a result, Stray Kids is now the fourth Korean artist to ever place the top of the chart after BTS, BLACKPINK, and SuperM.
Stray Kids Thanked Ryan Reynolds During Interview with Billboard
Following their debut at the #1 Billboard 200 chart this week, Stray Kids conducted an interview with Billboard executive director Jason Lipshutz and Kpop columnist Jeff Benjamin. During the interview, Stray Kids Bang Chan and Lee Felix particularly thanked their newly-found hyung, Ryan Reynolds.
It started when Jeff Benjamin asked the boys whether they noticed that Ryan Reynolds had shouted out “ODDINARY” on his Instagram story.
Stray Kids Bang Chan replied that he was tremendously surprised about the shoutout. Then, Felix added that Ryan Reynolds is basically a true STAY now.
This interview blew up on social media, making all STAY around the world start calling Ryan Reynolds their “older brother” or “hyung”, following Lee Felix.
