With all the commotion related to his recent electric scooter scandal, questions and demands started emerging for Suga to leave BTS. And yet, despite the fact that he might be facing possible jail time for this irresponsible drunk driving, BTS Suga is not leaving the group. So, what’s going to happen to BTS? Will they delay the group’s comeback in 2025? Dive deeper into the story with us below.
BTS Suga Enters Reflection Period Due to Electric Scooter Drunk Driving Scandal
The latest DUI drunk driving scandal involving an electric scooter that happened to BTS Suga had been a massive hit to the group. All this time, BTS Suga—birth name Min Yoongi—has been highly famous for his iconic preference for alcohol. He even had his own drinking show called “Suchwita,” where he invited guests to drink and chat with him.
It is ironic that this unique style has now become the very reason that BTS Suga got into a massive scandal.
Following the latest revelation of his irresponsible drinking, not to mention the lies and the alarming level of his 0.227% Blood Alcohol Content (BAC), BTS Suga is facing harsh criticism and scrutiny both from the Korean and international public.
And so Korean media outlet Sports Chosun reported on August 10 that BTS Suga is now entering a reflection period due to his electric scooter scandal.
At the same time, the report further explained that there has been no mention of Suga leaving BTS. Since BTS has long been famous for its close ties, Suga leaving the group is simply not an option. Hence, Suga is simply laying low for now to reflect deeply on his actions while waiting for the police to complete their investigation.
“According to multiple sources, Suga is deeply reflecting on this incident.
Also, because BTS is a team with such a strong sense of teamwork, extreme measures like his departure from the group are not being discussed.”

Allegedly Tarnishing the Good Image of BTS with Possible Jail Time
On the other hand, the public still condemns the BTS rapper and his shocking scandal. While drinking as an adult is totally acceptable, driving an electric scooter while drunk only shows that BTS Suga has lost control and failed to promote responsible adult drinking habits. Not to mention, he had allegedly lied so much in the process as well.
Not only that, but his status as a prominent global music producer and lead rapper of Kpop phenomenon BTS has only worsened the issue as BTS Suga had allegedly showcased a bad example to his fans and the public.
All the excruciatingly hard work of his fellow BTS members for these last 11 years to maintain a good image and reputation has now been tarnished by a single irresponsible drinking habit.
“With suspicions arising that Suga may have lied about the amount of alcohol he consumed, fans have expressed intense disappointment.
They feel that Suga has tarnished the monumental achievements that BTS has built over 11 years of hard work and dedication.”

A Danger to BTS Comeback in 2025?
Therefore, does it mean that the BTS Suga drunk driving scandal will become a danger to BTS comeback in 2025? According to Sports Chosun, not necessarily.
After all, since the beginning of this year, HYBE has been facing all kinds of issues: from a legal dispute with Min Heejin, LE SSERAFIM’s live vocal issue, and even the recent relationship scandal of Chairman Bang Si Hyuk.
Due to all these issues, it is highly unlikely that HYBE will delay the comeback of BTS, the only megastar that can save the company’s reputation and revenue.
“It is widely believed that delaying the full group comeback scheduled for 2025 would be difficult, given that their agency, HYBE, is already dealing with several other issues.”
