The prestigious Asia Contents and Global OTT (ACA & G.OTT) Awards 2024 has just announced its nominations. This year, Korean dramas that are hugely popular both domestically and internationally, such as “A Killer Paradox,” “Daily Dose of Sunshine,” and “Lovely Runner,” have been nominated in several of the 11 categories available. The Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards 2024 Nominees – Full List
The Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards were launched in 2019 and mark their 6th anniversary this year. They aim to enhance the growth of the Asian content industry and recognize global content from all media platforms, including TV, OTT, and online.
This year, the awards received 201 submissions from 16 countries. Of these, 41 works from 10 countries were selected as the final nominees.
In addition, seven international jurors—including Hidetoshi Nishijima, Alice Ko, Baek Mi Kyoung, An Eunmi, Matsuba Naohiko, Max Michael, and Ellen Y.D. Kim—will select the final winners.
Best Korean Dramas Receive Multiple Nominations
Netflix’s “A Killer Paradox” is nominated for Best Creative. Meanwhile, actors Choi Woo Shik, Lee Hee Jun, and Kim Yo Han are nominated in their respective categories.
Another Netflix K-series, “Daily Dose of Sunshine,” is nominated for Best Creative. Its lead actress, Park Bo Young, is nominated for Best Lead Actress.
DisneyPlus’s original K-series, “Uncle Samsik,” is nominated in the Best OTT Original category and the Best Newcomer (Female) category, with Tiffany Young as the nominee.
tvN’s hit drama “Lovely Runner” has Kim Hye Yoon as a strong contender for Best Lead Actress, while her co-star Byeon Woo Seok is nominated for Best Newcomer (Male). Additionally, “Lovely Runner” is competing for Best Original Song, a newly introduced category, with the track “Sudden Shower (Sonagi),” performed by Eclipse, the band featured in the series.
DisneyPlus’ “The Tyrant” is nominated in two categories: Park Hoon Jung for Best Director and Jo Yoonsu for Best Newcomer Actor (Female).
Coupang Play’s “Boyhood” is nominated for Best OTT, with Yim Si Wan nominated for Best Lead Actor (Male).
TVING’s “Death’s Game” is nominated for Best OTT Original and Best Visual Effects.
DisneyPlus’ “No Way Out: The Roulette” has Cho Jin Woong nominated for Best Lead Actor and Lee Kwang Soo nominated for Best Supporting Actor (Male).
Netflix’s “Parasyte: The Grey” obtained two nominations for Best Newcomer Actor (Female) with actress Jeon So Nee and Best Visual Effects.
Netflix’s “Mask Girl” received two nominations for Best Supporting Actor (Male and Female) with Ahn Jae Hong and Yeom Hye Ran.
Other Korean dramas released in 2024 that are nominated in this year’s Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards include “LTNS,” “The Atypical Family,” “The Whirlwind,” and “The Worst of Evil.”
