The Changes of An Yujin, from Maknae to Best Leader

An Yujin was the second maknae of her previous group, IZ*ONE. And now, she soared up as the best leader of her new group, IVE. So what changes happen to Yujin?

An Yujin, from Maknae to Leader

Yujin was a member of the South Korean-Japanese girl group IZ*ONE. Unfortunately, after promoting for two and a half years, IZ*ONE officially disbanded in April 2021. During her work with IZ*ONE, Yujin is the second youngest (the real maknae is Wonyoung). Yujin was born on September 1, 2003.

And now, Yujin has re-debuted with her new girl group under Starship Entertainment, IVE. Being in the new group, Yujin is now the second oldest (the oldest is Gaeul) and is trusted to be the group leader.

What Wonyoung said about Yujin being a leader

“When I first found out, I thought, ‘Unnie is the leader?’ I don’t know why I was sad about it, but I felt sad about the decision.”

Although fans thought that Wonyoung was disrespectful to Yujin at that time, it was not what Wonyoung meant.

They (Yujin and Wonyong) used to be in the maknae line in IZ*ONE. So they shared each other’s feelings and thoughts a lot. However, Wonyoung felt that if Yujin were the leader of IVE, they would feel awkward doing silly things the maknaes used to do.

Though, Wonyoung realized that Yujin is the perfect leader for IVE.

“But just as expected, she has been doing such a great job as our leader. I think she’s the best member to be our leader.”

Yujin changes after being a leader

Some changes happen to Yujin after she re-debuted. Yujin, who used to be in the maknae line, is now in the hyung line, and even more, she is the group leader.

First, Yujin is now growing up, and becomes much more mature.

Secondly, the appearance of Yujin seems to change drastically, from a cute little maknae to a charismatic leader.

Besides those two things, no other things from Yujin change. She is still an ISTP person who needs her time alone after going out.

Moreover, Yujin is still the same Yujin who cares about her members a lot. Yujin is the considerate leader type that knows her members very well.
