“The long wait is over!”—or so we thought. For over 5 days ARMY have been fighting to get their seat on BTS Permission to Dance Concert in LA. Then, suddenly, Ticketmaster announced that BTS LA Concert public sale would NOT be available, but more tickets show up with a TENFOLD price than the original: suspected scalpers?
Ticketmaster: BTS Permission to Dance LA Concert Public Sale NOT Available
After almost 3 years of waiting, ARMY fans have been extremely excited that BTS will be holding their first offline concert: Permission to Dance in LA. However, the dream of seeing their beloved BTS members in person fell through after Ticketmaster announced that BTS LA Concert public sale would NOT be available.

On October 10, Ticketmaster official fan support announced that the public sale for BTS LA Concert tickets would NOT be available. They claimed that this situation was because of the massive demands during the pre-sale period, and they have no more tickets available for the public.
Due to overwhelming past purchaser & Verified Fan presale demand for BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA, all shows are sold out & tickets are not available for the public onsale.

However, while Ticketmaster claimed that they had no more tickets available, suddenly more tickets showed up on the internet. The bad news is that these tickets come with a ridiculously increased price to more than TENFOLD of the original. That is why ARMY fans protested that Ticketmaster has been scamming fans by providing more access to scalpers.
It gets worse yall.. $36k for floor.. And if it’s soundcheck… you can’t transfer soundcheck tickets pic.twitter.com/jLtCtcx12t

Ticketmaster: Official Ticketing Site for “BTS Permission to Dance in LA” Concert
Once the “BTS Permission to Dance in LA” concert announcement went public, Ticketmaster became the only official site for its ticket sales.
Furthermore, according to their announcement, Ticketmaster would open the pre-sale ticket from October 5. In this pre-sale period, ARMY fans would be able to buy the tickets before the agency offers them to the public by registering via the Ticketmaster website.
However, apparently, the demands for BTS LA Concert pre-sale tickets were extremely overwhelming. Therefore, the website couldn’t handle it, despite putting ARMY fans in the queue for days. As a result, most ARMY fans didn’t manage to get the tickets even after a long wait. That is because Ticketmaster decided that public sale for BTS LA Concert will NOT be available.
@Ticketmaster what does this mean I am trying to get BTS tickets I been waiting for days and then I get this pic.twitter.com/ukoG0sZvMh

Army been waiting for 2 years to finally meet BTS, yet Ticketmaster kept pulling some kind of sh*t for all the purchasing days, there wasn’t a day where it was organized …this is messed up

More Tickets Show Up with TENFOLD Overpriced Prices
On the other hand, even when Ticketmaster announced that BTS LA Concert tickets had sold out, more tickets suddenly appeared on other websites and social media. While you may think that this is good news, it’s actually NOT. That is because these tickets are offered at prices ridiculously high, over TENFOLD of its original price.
BTS Concert in LA tickets were initially sold between 75 to 450 USD after tax and transaction fees.
also just in case ppl r wondering here’s the ticket price range and here’s the schedule on who buys tickets on which days !

here’s the ticketmaster website that’ll take you straight to info about bts’s la concert : https://t.co/O3FdEh6cI6 pic.twitter.com/qNyu5JFkG0
Suddenly after Ticketmaster announced that they ran out of tickets in the pre-sale period, more tickets showed up with ridiculous pricing.
Is these really the ticket price of BTS’ Permission to Dance in LA concert?! 😳😱 pic.twitter.com/GYcbOt2wjG

Imagine waiting over two years to see your faves and even being promised a presale code to get tickets only to not be given anything and tickets given to football fans instead of REAL fans? This is who y’all are giving tickets to? Ticketmaster do better! #TicketmasterScammedARMY pic.twitter.com/K6hvyg7jU1

Calls for Speculation: Ticketmaster and Scalpers
Due to this incident, ARMY fans started to speculate whether Ticketmaster really sold the pre-sale tickets for legitimate fans. Worse, fans suspected that Ticketmaster gave free access for the scalpers. For your information, scalpers are people who bought tickets in bulks to resell them at a much higher price.
Everything American sucks lmao they only care about money. Y’all will get what’s coming. ARMY don’t go down that easy 😏 #TicketmasterScammedARMY pic.twitter.com/tTn3Yy4fy1

In fact, ARMY fans even found some social media groups filled with scalpers trying to resell the overpriced tickets.
Everything is on a FB public page. Meaning that I am not responsible for sharing the names of these people since all the information is public.

The Ticketmaster system is beyond ridiculous and broken.
We should do something. pic.twitter.com/at55jewlE4
Despite the fact that the website’s policy prohibits reselling the ticket in a higher amount than the face value.
If you click ticket details on your tickets in the TM app it states this, please spread it to let armys be aware of this and keep away from scalpers sites as there might be hope for resales on TM! 💜 #BTSTickets #BTSCONCERT #PTD_ON_STAGE_LA #TicketmasterScammedARMY pic.twitter.com/gxvd5F4ZeU

Therefore, this incident calls for speculation from all Kpop fans whether Ticketmaster has actually been encouraging scalping. A fan even brought up an old video from 2018. The video shows Ticketmaster participated in a scalper convention as the main speaker.
This video is from 2018. CBC went undercover at a “Ticket Broker,” aka scalper convention. Where Ticketmaster is the main speaker. What they’re doing is not new. They encourage it. ARMY, if we work together, we can change this unfair system. DON’T BUY RESALE TICKETS! pic.twitter.com/wgyVGoVtto

ARMY Fans are Taking ACTIONS against Ticketmaster
That is why finally ARMY fans are taking action against Ticketmaster with their alleged wrongful handle on BTS LA Concert ticket sales and especially to the holder of the previously cancelled MOTS7 Tour, who—by system—should have had the priority to buy the tickets during the pre-sale period.
2 handles are taking action:

What Should We Do?
At last, the question will be: what should we do about these scalpers?
Experienced ARMY repeatedly remind fellow ARMY who weren’t able to get their tickets that they should NOT buy those overprized tickets from the scalpers. Aside from the fact that it will encourage the same actions for future BTS concerts, some tickets (like the Soundcheck) can ONLY be retrieved by the buyer with proof of identity. Therefore, if you buy the ticket from other sites, chances are you may not be able to get them.
Reminder that Soundcheck can only be retrieved by the buyer. If you buy from another site you WILL NOT be able to pick up the tickets. pic.twitter.com/GDhUUh7TDy
— Gabrielle⁷ (@GabrielleG9_) October 9, 2021
Therefore, ARMY fans also encourage you NOT to buy anything from these scalpers. After all, since they won’t go to BTS LA concert, there’s a high probability of scalpers returning the tickets to Ticketmaster when nobody wants to buy from them. When it happens, you can eventually purchase these tickets at regular prices.
A scalper will not go to the concert. When they don’t sell they refund them and you can purchase them directly from Ticketmaster for the regular price. DONT BUY RESALE. #BTS #btsconcertLA #PermissionToDanceOnStageLA #PermissionToDanceOnStage #ticketmaster

Finally, for ARMY fans who already got your tickets, congratulations! And please stay strong for those who haven’t because we know that you are still in the middle of a challenging fight. In the meantime, let’s look back to BTS “Speak Yourself” concert.
