On July 25, the Korean Business Research Institute released the latest individual Kpop idol brand reputation rankings for July 2024. As a result, Kim Seokjin (Jin) from BTS maintained the top spot for the second consecutive month. July 2024 Top Individual Kpop Idol Brand Reputation Rankings

The Korean Business Research Institute analyzed the brand reputation index of idols by extracting 113,323,447 pieces of big data related to 1,730 idol individual brands from June 25 to July 25, 2024. The institute observed a 2.31% increase in the volume of data related to individual idol brands this month compared to the previous month when they analyzed 110,769,278 pieces of data. Further, they measured the brand reputation index by evaluating the consumer participation index, media index, communication index, and community index related to idol individual brands. 

According to the analysis of individual Kpop idol brand reputation data in July 2024, BTS Jin secured the top position, followed by Girls’ Generation Taeyeon in the second spot, Apink Jung Eunji in the third spot, ASTRO Cha Eun Woo in the fourth position, and IVE Jang Won Young in the fifth position.

TOP 5

1. BTS Jin

In July 2024, Jin from BTS maintained the top spot in the individual Kpop idol brand reputation rankings for the second consecutive month with a brand reputation index of 5,606,311. Despite holding onto his position, Jin’s brand reputation index saw a 10.60% decline from June’s 6,270,885 index. The analysis shows the following breakdown for Jin:

• Participation Index: 139,956
• Media Index: 1,263,125
• Communication Index: 2,161,547
• Community Index: 2,041,682

Furthermore, in the link analysis conducted by the institute, the words “Bearer,” “Attention,” and “Handsome” emerged as the most popular terms associated with the idol. On the other hand, in the keyword analysis, terms like “Paris Olympics,” “torch relay,” and “Super Tuna” stood out. Moreover, Jin achieved a positive score of 92.59% in the positive and negative analysis. In addition, Jin also secured the top spot in the July kpop boy group member brand reputation rankings.

​2, Girls’ Generation Taeyeon

In July, Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation, who recently released her new single “Heaven,” rose to the second position with a brand reputation index of 3,532,006. This increase of 48.72% from June’s index of 2,374,883 showcases her growing popularity. Here are the specific indexes:

• Media Index: 930,233
• Communication Index: 1,098,587
• Community Index: 1,376,744

​3, Apink Jung Eun Ji

This month, Jung Eun Ji from Apink, known for her captivating portrayal in the Korean drama “Miss Night and Day,” soared to the third spot in the idol brand rankings. Her brand reputation index skyrocketed by 171.24%, climbing from 1,252,951 in June to 3,398,443 in July. The breakdown of the indexes includes:

• Participation index 130,713
• Media index 1,279,946
• Communication index 902,798
• Community index 1,084,986

Furthermore, Jung Eun Ji also secured the top spot in the July Korean drama brand reputation rankings.

Cha Eun Woo from ASTRO, who delivered a remarkable performance at the Waterbomb 2024 Seoul stage, slipped to fourth place this month. The singer of “Where Am I” obtained a brand reputation index of 2,870,148. This marks a 29.68% decline compared to the June brand reputation index of 4,081,551. The breakdown of the indexes is as follows:

• Media Index: 825,268
• Communication Index: 746,446
• Community Index: 535,870
