The Korean Business Research Institute has unveiled the latest list of popularity rankings for Kpop idols, with IVE Jang Won Young claiming the top spot as the most popular idol for this month. Dive into the top 50 individual Kpop idol brand reputation rankings for May 2024, featuring male and female idols!
May 2024 Top Individual Kpop Idol Brand Reputation Rankings
From April 23 to May 23, 2024, the Korean Business Research Institute extracted 73,949,817 pieces of big data related to 1,730 idol personal brands. Using the latest data, they analyzed consumer behavior to measure the brand reputation index, considering important factors such as participation, media, communication, and community indexes related to idol personal brands. In comparison to the 69,478,209 pieces of individual Kpop idol brand big data in April, there was a 6.44% increase.
According to the results, IVE Jang Won Young, ASTRO Cha Eun Woo, IVE An Yu Jin, BLACKPINK Jennie, and Girls’ Generation Taeyeon dominated this month’s top five idol rankings. See below the most popular female and male Kpop idols in March, April, and May 2024.

1. IVE Jang Won Young
In May 2024, IVE Jang Won Young ranked first in the idol individual brand reputation rankings with the following indexes:
- Participation Index: 1,042,912
- Media Index: 1,142,943
- Communication Index: 1,274,439
- Community Index: 1,354,686
As a result, the female idol’s brand reputation index rose by 355.59%, rising from 1,056,871 in April to 4,814,980 in May. In the link analysis, the institute found “positivity,” “luckiness,” and “beauty” to be Won Young’s popular related terms.
Meanwhile, they found “Lucky Vicky,” “super positive,” and “Won Young’s thinking” to be the idol’s popular keywords. In sentiment analysis, she achieved a positivity ratio of 91.87%. In addition, she also topped the May 2024 Top Kpop Girl Group Member Brand Reputation Rankings.
2. ASTRO Cha Eun Woo
Drop to the second place this month, Cha Eun Woo from ASTRO gained the following indexes:
- Participation Index: 1,353,562
- Media Index: 1,237,372
- Communication Index: 1,198,057
- Community Index: 1,013,104
As a result, the male idol and actor achieved a brand reputation index of 4,802,095. Compared to April’s brand reputation index of 3,891,140, it increased by 23.41%.
3. IVE An Yu Jin
Taking the third place, An Yu Jin from IVE obtained the following indexes:
- Participation Index: 648,114
- Media Index: 965,516
- Communication Index: 1,111,787
- Community Index: 1,273,120
As a result, the brand reputation index of the winner of the PRIZM Popularity Award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards soared by 584.79%. It skyrocketed from 583,906 in April to 3,998,536 in May.
4. BLACKPINK Jennie
In the fourth place, Jennie from Blackpink, who recently wowed in a vibrant cobalt blue Alaïa dress at the Met Gala 2024, earned the following indexes:
- Participation Index: 513,172
- Media Index: 618,297
- Communication Index: 816,682
- Community Index: 1,102,541
Consequently, the female idol achieved a brand reputation index of 3,050,691. This figure marks a 12.17% decrease compared to last April’s brand reputation index of 3,473,456. Despite the decline in rank, the singer managed to secure a position in the top five this month.
5. Girls’ Generation Taeyeon
Securing the fifth place, Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation obtained the following indexes:
- Participation Index: 214,730
- Media Index: 508,041
- Communication Index: 1,187,633
- Community Index: 923,539
As a result, the singer, who will appear on the upcoming variety show “Zombieverse 2”, achieved a brand reputation index of 2,833,943. This number represents a 10.36% increase compared to last April’s brand reputation index of 2,567,872.
