BTS Maintains Top Spot in July 2023 Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korean Business Research Institute conducted a comprehensive analysis of idol group brand reputation, encompassing both boy and girl groups. The study utilized 77,159,626 idol group brand big data extracted from the period between June 18 and July 18, 2023. However, there was a notable 8.07 percent decrease compared to the 83,929,675 idol group brand big data recorded in June.
The institute analyzed the big data to determine the brand reputation index of Kpop idol groups in July 2023. The study evaluated crucial factors, such as brands’ participation, media coverage, communication volume, and community engagement indexes, to establish the rankings.
Based on the comprehensive assessment, BTS, NewJeans, BLACKPINK, IVE, and SEVENTEEN secured the top five positions in the brand reputation rankings list, solidifying their status as the most popular Kpop idol groups in July 2023.
Top 5 Most Popular Kpop Idol Groups
1. BTS
- Brand Participation Index: 487,550
- Media Index: 989,715
- Communication Index: 2,505,291

BTS, the leading Kpop idol group, experienced a 41.88 percent decrease in their brand reputation index, dropping from 11,654,947 in June to 6,773,406 in July. Despite this decline, the group continued to hold the top position in the idol group’s brand reputation rankings for July 2023.
Moreover, in the link analysis, the terms “reveal,” “release,” and “publish” emerged as BTS’s most popular related terms. Additionally, the keyword analysis revealed that “Jungkook,” “J-Hope,” and “Jimin” became the most popular keywords associated with the group.
Furthermore, the positivity-negativity analysis showed that BTS achieved an impressive positive rate of 90.07 percent, demonstrating the overwhelmingly favorable sentiment towards the group.
2. New Jeans
