TVING Is Set to Air Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young’s New K-Drama “Unfriend”
According to OSEN‘s exclusive report on March 5, Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young’s long-awaited mystery drama “Unfriend” (literal title) is in discussion for scheduling on TVING.
A representative from the production response to this report stated,
“Nothing has been finalized yet. We are in the midst of internal discussions.”
“Unfriend” is a Korean adaptation of “In the Net,” a novel by Hong Kong novelist Chan Ho Kei. The production initially named the project after the book but later changed the title to “Unfriend.”
About “Unfriend”
The story follows a woman who doubts her sister’s death was a suicide. She suspects someone or something caused it, so she sets out to find the truth. During her investigation, she meets a mysterious man whose involvement raises questions. Moreover, they find a dark secret that shatters her understanding of her sister’s death.
Production
“Unfriend” is a joint project between two renowned directors, Kim Jee Woon and Park Bo Ram. They are recognized for their works in the mystery genre, making this series a must-watch.
Kim Jee Woon, the director of the films “I Saw the Devil,” “The Age of Shadows” and “Cobweb,” is making his small-screen debut with this series. Meanwhile, Park Bo Ram’s famous works include: “Through the Darkness” and “The Fiery Priest” Season 2.
Kim Seon Ho and Park Gyu Young play the lead roles, along with a supporting cast of Lee Hong Nae, Lee So E, Song Ji Hyun, Jin Ho Eun, and more. The six-episode series finished filming in November 2023.
