She was born in Anyang, a city located in Gyeonggi province, in South Korea. She moved to Auckland, New Zealand, with her family and lived there for five years before deciding to start her career as a trainee in YG in 2010.
Recently, in the interview that held during the High-Cut pictorial photoshoot, Jennie shared many things that made her today. Starting from her childhood dreams, fears, motivations, passions, and career.
Sharing about her childhood dreams, she warmly admitted,
“Since I was younger, I loved having my own style. Like reforming my clothes or mix-matching my clothes for different styles. Singing and dancing were a part of my daily life as well. I had no idea back then that I was going to do those stuff like a career. But I think it’s my younger self dreaming about what to wear every morning, singing with my friends and copying dances I saw online that got me to where I am today. If this young Jennie had to say something to current Jennie, she would say, “You’re doing what you love, so have fun and do the best you can.”

“Time has gone incredibly fast from the moment we debuted to now. There’ve been new things occurring every day, so it still feels incredible. I will work harder to make these precious times to last longer.”

I think very carefully about how to spend my time wisely even when I’m not working, so I won’t be disappointed with the days that I have spent I try to take in different hobbies and interests besides the daily workout and treatment. I attempt to learn new things.”
