One of the most anticipated Kpop events, Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC) 2022, is facing huge criticism for an alleged violation of human rights in their policy. Check out the following reports and complete details about what happened to ISAC 2022.
Kpop Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC) 2022 Under Fire for Alleged Human Rights Violation – What Happened?
Following filming date and lineup announcement, Korean media reported on July 26 that Kpop Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC) 2022 received a huge backlash.
A recent fandom announcement stated that ISAC 2022 will allow fans to enter the filming stadium at 5.30 AM. They will then be able to watch the entire filming session until it ends at 9 PM. However, everyone is NOT allowed to leave the stadium during filming. Besides, all attendees must also refrain from bringing any food into the stadium.
While enduring 15-hour filming is considered challenging enough, preventing anyone from bringing in food and leaving the stadium means that attendees will not be able to eat anything.
Therefore, most fans who plan to attend and watch must prepare themselves to experience an empty stomach.
ISAC Finally Changed Their Statement
After the huge criticism circulating on social media and fan communities, Kpop Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC) 2022 decided to revise its policy.
According to the committee, attendees will now be able to enter the filming location midway. And they will also allow fans to leave the stadium briefly to eat and return. However, ISAC did not revise the food prohibition inside the stadium.
And regarding the policy, MBC stated that they are not responsible because recruiting fans falls in the domain of each idol’s agency.
“We have nothing to say about the policy. That is because each artist’s agency is in charge of their own fan recruitment its related matters.”
MBC to TV Daily.
