Park Min Young Investigated by South Korean Prosecutors for Connection to Kang Jong Hyun

On February 14, SBS News exclusively reported that the South Korean Prosecutors had investigated actress Park Min Young.

Furthermore, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office summoned and investigated Park Min Young on February 13. According to the report, the prosecutors had called her as a witness.

What Happened to Park Min Young: Connections During Past Dating Relationship with Ex-Boyfriend Kang Jong Hyun

So, what happened to Park Min Young?

Further in the report, SBS News explained that the Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office had investigated Park Min Young for her connections during her past dating relationship with her former boyfriend, Kang Jong Hyun.

Previously, the Prosecution Office had arrested Park Min Young’s ex-boyfriend Kang Jong Hyun for embezzlement, breach of trust, and fraudulent, illegal transactions under the Capital Markets Act.

Since Dispatch had revealed Park Min Young dating relationship with ex-boyfriend Kang Jong Hyun, the Prosecution Office investigated her for the connection. They wanted to know whether Park Min Young had any involvement in Kang Jong Hyun’s illegal, unfair profits. And the investigation was in relation to Kang Jong Hyun’s embezzlements and stock price manipulations as the real owner of Bithumb.

The Prosecution Office then explained that Park Min Young’s name had appeared on Kang Jong Hyun’s borrowed-name list. That is why the investigation into Kang Jong Hyun’s transactions in convertible bonds using borrowed names in Bithumb affiliates resulted in Park Min Young’s suspected involvement in the business.

Park Min Young Denied Involvement with Kang Jong Hyun

On February 13, actress Park Min Young reportedly responded to the Prosecution Office’s summon. She came into the office to deny all the allegations against her.

During the investigation, Park Min Young claimed no relation to Kang Jong Hyun’s borrowed-name transactions.

Meanwhile, Park Min Young’s older sister had previously known to have worked as an outside director at one of Bithumb’s affiliates. She remained in the position during the same period as Kang Jong Hyun’s younger sister’s position as the CEO.

Due to the investigation, the Prosecution Office managed to shed some light on all the crimes within Bithumb’s affiliates.

BANNED From Leaving the Country

Even though Park Min Young had denied involvement during past dating relationship with ex-boyfriend Kang Jong Hyun, the Prosecution Office had reportedly banned her from leaving the country.

In addition, Prosecutors are still reviewing whether they would summon her for further investigations.
