What Is in The Emotional BTS “We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal” Music Video?

BTS FESTA 2020 celebration is still ongoing, and BTS has finally released the official music video of We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal. This is perhaps the most emotional song in their Map of the Soul: 7 album, even before the music video is released. And this is presented specially for you, ARMY!

The music video shows an animated clip that represents their 7 years journey. The Bangtan Boys in the clip wears outfits from music videos over the years, including “Blood, Sweat  & Tears”, “Run”, “Boy With Luv”, “Epilogue: Young Forever”, “Not Today”, “Spring Day”, and stage performance of “Mikrokosmos”.

If we watch the video, we will see the group is taken to the top of a plinth by a purple whale and surrounded by purple light, which represents ARMY. They do dedicate We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal song and music video to beloved ARMY.

In the second verse, J-Hope reflects how BTS was and is. Though they were from a small company, they stood tall, accepted criticism, and went through hardships. In the early years, they cried a lot because many criticized and said they wouldn’t make it; even they were about to disband. However, they continued and courageously spoke their minds through their music.

The pre-chorus tells how ARMY and BTS are inseparable. This is the way BTS describes that ARMY protects them throughout the seven years of their career. In Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith Interview, Jimin said that he has goosebumps whenever they sing this line.

“Throw stones” in the chorus refers to criticize someone, or in this song criticize BTS. They are now not afraid of being talked and criticized, as they have each other; BTS has ARMY. So whatever the obstacle is, they can go through it together.

In the fourth verse, RM is trying to recall the memory of him being a solo artist. Now, he has BTS and ARMY, which sometimes makes him think that it is a dream. The last lines of this verse tell about how in their early years, people mocked their name: 방탄소년단 (Bangtan Sonyeondan) or “Bulletproof Boy Scouts”. However, they have proven that they (BTS and ARMY) are bulletproof and protect each other.
