What’s worse, because of the failure in evacuation, a person reportedly fainted during the incident. And the chaos also resulted in a drone camera getting caught in NMIXX member Kyujin’s hair.

JTBC K-909’s Explanation of the Accident

Following the circulated news about NMIXX members and the music show accident, JTBC finally released an official statement.

According to JTBC, the accident occurred after the pink muhly grass caught fire due to the set’s problem. Following the accident, the team immediately evacuated NMIXX members from the music show’s stage. Then, they put out the fire with an extinguisher and ventilated the area right away.

However, the production team denied reports of the fainted audience. What really happened was a person reported feeling unwell during the NMIXX performance. Therefore, the person left the scene with a staff member, and the team advised them to go home.

But the audience stated they were fine and wished to re-enter the recording site. Therefore, they returned to the site and watched the rest of the program sitting on a chair. After checking that the rest of the audience was fine, the production team then resumed filming.

Finally, the production team clarified that nothing serious happened to NMIXX members, including Kyujin. And while there were no casualties in the accident, they promised to prevent such things from happening again.
