On December 16, a Korean community post brought up an issue after Mnet removed Jinni’s footage in their recent video of the 2022 MAMA collaboration stage. Some footage that initially showed Jinni’s performance was edited in the latest video.

Jinni is Not Included in the Recent 2022 MAMA Collaboration & NMIXX Behind-The-Scene Video

A few days ago, Mnet uploaded a new video of MAMA’s TOP 10 MOST-VIEWED STAGES. The video contains all the stage performances of the Kpop idols who participated in the 2022 MAMA, including NMIXX and its former member, Jinni.

However, an unexpected moment occurred when fans realized that Mnet had edited Jinni out of the video, especially during the 2022 MAMA collaboration stage. All the footage that was supposed to show Jinni’s gorgeous visual and stunning performance suddenly disappeared. Mnet either replaced them with footage of the audience or removed them completely.

Not only that, but Mnet has also removed Jinni completely from the recent NMIXX behind-the-scene footage.

JYP Will Not Reveal the Real Reason Why Jinni Leaving NMIXX

Indeed, there is no clear answer to the reason why Jinni leaving NMIXX and JYP Entertainment. The agency only concluded Jinni reason for leaving as a “personal reason” and provided no further statement no matter how desperate fans had demanded explanations.

This vague reason and explanation from JYP Entertainment are, in fact, based on the company’s devoted policy. Previously in an interview, JYP founder Park Jin Young revealed that JYP would never reveal the mistakes of their former members even though they decided to cut them off.

It doesn’t mean that all the idols, including Jinni, left JYP Entertainment because they had made a mistake. But even if they did, the agency would never officially reveal the truth to the public.

“It doesn’t mean everyone leaves the agency because they made mistakes. However, JYP is still inclined to keep all the reasons a secret so the person can still strive outside the agency.
It doesn’t mean that every artist who left our company had done something wrong. Some of them had other issues or other reasons to leave. However, we want them to be successful outside of our company.
So, if they really did do something wrong, we will never say it — that’s our policy.
We genuinely want them to succeed when they leave. But if we publicly reveal what they did when they left, that will hurt them. That’s not what we want.”

Although we may never know the real reason for Jinni leaving NMIXX, the insufficient explanation from JYP Entertainment and Mnet’s sudden removal has triggered mixed reactions from fans.

Indeed, Mnet may have decided to edit Jinni out of MAMA 2022 collaboration video and behind-the-scene footage per JYP request to respect Jinni’s current status as a former idol and avoid unnecessary copyright issues.

Still, these actions have stirred up more comments and criticisms from fans to JYP Entertainment. Why?
