As all we, Kpop fans, know that Kpop idols are not allowed to date, more and more Kpop idols dating rumors are spread. Here are a few reasons we shouldn’t spread untrue Kpop idols dating rumors and how Kpop fans tend to react to such things.
Why we shouldn’t spread untrue Kpop idols dating rumors
1. It hurts fans
Some fans stated that it hurts when they read news about their idols dating from a third party. They suggested their idols ‘not get caught dating by irresponsible media.’ For them, it is better to know it from the idols through the agency’s official statement if they are dating.
A soloist who has confirmed dating a popular member of a girl group wrote a letter to his fans saying that ‘he would have disclosed this news to fans himself, however, it would be sad if they have to hear of this from a third party.’
honestly I’ll only believe in kpop dating rumors scandal if only the idols reveal their married or pregnant but baseless rumors on the internet created by fans / antis and dating scandal based on dispatch when the photos is just meaningless is just too easy to believe

2. It’ll ruin the boyfriend/girlfriend fantasy
Admit it or not, in the Kpop world, Kpop idols are trained to present their best version possible to the fans. Furthermore, agencies often ‘create’ the ‘perfect boyfriend/girlfriend’ image for their idols. As a result, no wonder that fans tend to have the ‘perfect boyfriend/girlfriend fantasy.’.
However, when Kpop idols dating rumors are spread (especially when they are untrue), it will affect the fans’ fantasy. For ‘mature’ fans, it might not be a problem. However, for some other new fans, it might break their heart, and worse, they will stop supporting the idols.
not to mention the idols being used as figures of capitalism. the fans think they OWN their idols which is why normal stuff like dating are treated as 'scandals' in this industry. the marketing by kpop companies is scary if you think about it deep enough. https://t.co/8GBZWiaho2

3. It affects the idols’ mental health
Last but not least, even this might be the most important one, dating rumors can affect the idols’ mental health.
We can’t deny that Kpop idols are public figures who get more exposure on media. However, their relationship with others should be a personal matter. When people talk a lot about Kpop idols dating issues, again and again, don’t you think the idols will get uncomfortable?
Moreover, with the false dating rumors, our favorite Kpop idols will face problems with their agencies. It will make them suffer from more severe pressure.
How should we react to any Kpop idols dating rumors?
Stop criticizing
No one likes to be criticized. Neither do Kpop idols. When we criticize Kpop idols because we heard their dating rumors -whether true or false, it will hurt them.
Don’t pay too much attention
Considering that untrue Kpop dating rumors can affect the idols’ mental health, it would be wise not to pay too much attention. By doing so, the rumors will fade away, and our idols won’t feel any pressure.
Support the idols
Kpop idols need their fans to support them no matter what. So it would be thoughtful of us to show our support by spreading good news on their achievements. Moreover, wouldn’t it be much better to focus on their achievements as musicians?
