Wi Ha Joon to Star in the New Mystery Crime Drama “Siren” Alongside Park Min Young
On March 19, an exclusive report by JTBC revealed that actor Wi Ha Joon has been cast as the male lead in the new K-drama “Siren.” Moreover, according to the report, he will work alongside Park Min Young.
As reported, actress Park Min Young is reviewing the offer to star in this series. Yet, there is a response regarding Wi Ha Joon’s casting news from the agency. Director So Jae Hyun, known for his work “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers,” will helm the series. In addition, Studio Dragon will be in charge of the production.
Details about the broadcast channel, air date, cast, and characters have yet to be disclosed.
About “Siren”
“Siren” is a Korean remake of the Japanese drama “Ice World” (“Koori No Sekai”). “Ice World,” aired on Fuji TV in 1999, starred Takenouchi Yutaka and Matsushima Nanako in the lead roles.
The show drew viewers due to its interesting mystery crime plot and well-developed characters. In addition, the intriguing mystery evolves into a captivating love story between the main characters.
The story follows a mysterious woman named Egi Toko. The story begins when Toko’s co-worker, Shono Tsukiko, is found dead in a tragic accident.
Hirokawa Eiki, an insurance investigator, and detective Ujou Takeshi, who is investigating the case, see connections between Shono’s death and the deaths of Toko’s three fiancés. Together, they are determined to solve the case.
The title “Siren” comes from Greek mythology. In Greek mythology, a Siren is a creature that features half-woman and half-bird. People consider them dangerous creatures when they appear at sea. This is because their enchanting songs can cause shipwrecks and the death of their crew.

Actor Wi Ha Joon started his acting career as a supporting role in the movie “Coin Locker Girl” in 2015. He got his first leading role in the film “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum” and in the drama series “Romance Is a Bonus Book” in the same year, 2019.
