HBO has confirmed BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s acting debut on “American Idol”!
Jennie was briefly seen in the teaser of HBO’s “The Idol,” and the TV network has made an official statement on Twitter!
“Jennie Kim has been cast in #THEIDOL,” said the tweet from HBO on July 18 at 10 a.m. local time.

BLACKPINK Jennie is in Talks to Appear in HBO Series “The Idol,” Starring The Weeknd, Troye Sivan, and Lily-Rose Depp
HBO Drama Series “The Idol”
On June 17, Korean news outlet TV Daily reported that BLACKPINK Jennie has received an offer to appear in the HBO series “The Idol,” and she is still reviewing it.
Amy Seimetz directs the sic episodes series. Meanwhile, the story is created by The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye), Sam Levinson of “Euphoria,” and Grammy winner and former Los Angeles nightlife entrepreneur Reza Fahim.
“The Idol” is a six-episode music-industry drama series that follows a rising pop idol who enters a complicated relationship with an enigmatic L.A. club owner and a secret modern-day cult leader.
The drama series cast consists of Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) as the male lead and Lily-Rose Depp as the female lead. Other American actors and actresses who also play in the series are Troye Sivan, Debby Ryan, Tyson Ritter, Melanie Liburd, and more.
There are currently no details on the role that Blackpink Jennie will play. However, if she accepts the offer, we can expect actress Jennie to appear as a guest star or a cameo in the series.
The Hints – BLACKPINK Jennie to Make Actress Debut
In November last year, Blackpink Jennie was seen sharing a friendly hug with The Weeknd outside a restaurant in L.A. Soon after the images were out, BLINKs couldn’t hide their excitement. Many speculate that they will have an epic collaboration.
She also hang out with Lily-Rose Depp at Paris Fashion Week.
Furthermore, the next thing to anticipate is if actress Jennie debuts in “The Idol,” we might get a musical performance or two of Blackpink Jennie! Will it be Jennie and The Weeknd, Jennie and Troye Sivan, or even Jennie, The Weeknd, and Troye Sivan? That would be a big surprise for Blinks!
Meanwhile, after a two-year break since “The Album” in 2020, Kpop girl group BLACKPINK is reported will return in the second half of this year.
