The magnetic power of South Korea’s Kpop music has been gaining popularity across different industries. Previously, it was speculated that at the championship’s song may feature an exciting collaboration with rising Kpop group ATEEZ.
For several times, a MOBA game that’s been dominating in South Korea, League of Legends, has invited two of Kpop’s proud idols, NewJeans and Baekhyun of EXO, to perform at the opening ceremony of its world championship finals, the Worlds 2023.
On November 4, Riot Music—a subsidiary of League of Legends developer Riot Games—officially announced the performers for its Worlds 2023 Final opening ceremony. Among the lineup performers were Kpop’s monster rookie NewJeans and EXO’s main vocalist Baekhyun.
NewJeans and EXO Baekhyun: Debut Performance of League of Legends New Songs
Previously, League of Legends surprised both Kpop and gaming fans by inviting NewJeans for a collaboration for its Worlds 2023 anthem.
Titled “GODS”, the Worlds 2023 anthem by NewJeans has skyrocketed, becoming one of the most streamed League of Legends songs.
Along with NewJeans, League of Legends also invited EXO’s Baekhyun to voice one of its characters, Ezreal of HEARTSTEEL. Debuted on October 23, HEARTSTEEL is a new virtual Kpop boy group by Riot Games, consisting of its 6 most prominent champions: Sett, Kayn, Yone, Ezreal, Aphelios, and K’Sante.
Furthermore, prominent global artists have participated in voicing the group’s 4 vocalists and rappers: ØZI, Tobi Lou, Cal Scruby, and EXO’s Baekhyun. Each of these amazing vocalists will showcase a debut live performance of HEARTSTEEL’s new single, “Paranoia.”
ØZI voices the character Sett, Tobi Lou as K’Sante, Cal Scruby as Kayn, and EXO Baekhyun will demonstrate his outstanding vocal as Ezreal.
Worlds 2023 Finals Opening Ceremony: When’s the Date?

According to Riot Games’ announcement, NewJeans and EXO Baekhyun will perform at the opening ceremony for League of Legends Worlds 2023 Finals on November 19 at 5 PM, KST. The live performance will take place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. But if you cannot attend the ceremony in person, a live stream broadcast is available via League of Legends’ official website and YouTube channel.
