Global hip-hop/R&B girl group XG made history yesterday (Friday, August 8). They release their first-ever XG live album, XG 1st WORLD TOUR “The first HOWL” Live, now streaming worldwide on all major digital platforms. The album immortalizes the magic of XG Tokyo Dome—a monumental night that closed out their debut world tour. XG showcased their meteoric rise from fresh debut to international powerhouse.
Relive the XG Tokyo Dome Finale with New Live Album

With 13 tracks featuring 18 electrifying performances, the live album delivers the full Tokyo Dome experience—every beat, cheer, and heartfelt moment. The setlist includes fan-favorite hits “WOKE UP”, “SHOOTING STAR”, and “LEFT RIGHT”, alongside the emotional standouts “IN THE RAIN”. It also features “IS THIS LOVE”, which has held a spot on Billboard Japan’s Hot 100 for an impressive 21 consecutive weeks.
Fans can also watch the newly released live performance video of “NEW DANCE” from the Tokyo Dome show, now available on XG’s official YouTube channel.
Rave Reviews from Fans and Media
While official music critics have yet to publish formal reviews, early coverage from music outlets has been glowing. Femmusic Magazine described the album as capturing “the raw energy, emotion, and show-stopping performances” of the Tokyo Dome finale. Bandwagon Asia called the night “a triumphant homecoming and a powerful statement of just how far XG has come.” Likewise, KStationTV noted the live album “captures the energy of their first-ever world tour“, which drew over 400,000 fans.
Fans have been just as enthusiastic. On Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit, listeners praised the authentic live sound, the girls’ powerhouse vocals, and the emotional punch of hearing the Dome crowd roar. Comments like “it feels like we’re right there in the concert” and “XG shut down the Dome” were common.
Japanese fans noted how rare it was for a live album to feature no cover songs. Some found it surprising but ultimately refreshing to have a setlist purely made up of XG’s original music. Meanwhile, YouTube comments echoed the excitement, with standouts such as “so proud of these girls” and “this album is pure fire.”
The official “Is This Love” Tokyo Dome live video quickly surpassed 1 million views. It shows just how strongly the release resonated with the ALPHAZ fandom worldwide.
