Yang Hyun Suk, YG Entertainment Founder Charged for B.I Drug Scandal Cover Up

Korean news media reported that Yang Hyun Suk, the ex-CEO and YG Entertainment Founder charged for B.I drug scandal cover up.

YG Entertainment Founder Charged for B.I Drug Scandal Cover Up by the Korean Prosecution Office

On June 7, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office announced that Yang Hyun Suk was indicted for attempting to cover up B.I drugs scandal with a bribe.

Also, the prosecution office stated that the founder of YG Entertainment had made threatening retaliation in order to cover up the initial crime, which then elevated the Yang Hyun Suk scandal. He has now violated the Additional Punishment Laws on Specific Crimes and will also be charged accordingly.

The investigation stated that Yang Hyun Suk tried to change a witness’ statement to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission regarding drug purchases made by B.I in 2016. Furthermore, this investigation has been ongoing since June 2020.

B.I Drug Scandal

Previously, former iKON member, B.I drug scandal had been in progress since the artist last admitted drug use in September 2019. Regarding to B.I drugs purchase charges, his new company (IOK Company) has released an official statement.

Although the test came out negative in February 2020, the investigation still continued based on B.I drug confirmation statement. After that, the police had filed B.I drug scandal case to the prosecution office.

To complicate things further, it was a scandal about a drug purchase a few years before that the police had wind of but which was never investigated because YG sent a witness abroad so she couldn’t be questioned and otherwise leaned on the police not to pursue the matter.

Today, B.I drug scandal continues, and Yang Hyun Suk, YG Entertainment Founder charged for B.I drug scandal cover up. They will both be facing trials for the case.

Basically: you can be investigated with only little to no clues pointing towards you. If you are charged, it means that they have reason to believe you are guilty and are officially accusing you. However that does not determine whether or not hes actually guilty or innocent
