Following the casting news in March, Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin will take the lead roles in a new drama, “The Number You Have Dialed” (literal title). The upcoming drama is an adaptation of Kakao Page’s popular web novel.
Storyline
The drama “The Number You Have Dialed” portrays an arranged marriage couple, Baek Sa Eon and Hong Hee Joo, who have been married for three years. Despite residing together, the couple does not engage in any form of communication. The narrative progresses when he receives a threatening call regarding his wife’s kidnapping.

Yoo Yeon Seok as Baek Sa Eon
Baek Sa Eon was born with the gold spoon of an elite family. He has it all: stunning looks, outstanding skills, and a perfect resume. Sa Eon is the youngest spokesman for the Blue House and a promising young politician. His background as a civil war reporter, hostage negotiator, and news anchor for a public television station has made him famous. One day, his tranquil life turns chaotic as he receives a phone call about his wife’s kidnapping.
Chae Soo Bin as Hong Hee Joo
Hong Hee Joo is the daughter of a media owner who marries Baek Sa Eon for political reasons. Hee Joo is an excellent sign language interpreter and works for courts and broadcasters. She suffers from mutism after a traumatic event when she was a child. One day, a stranger kidnaps her, and then she realizes that her matrimonial bliss is about to change.
Production
Director Park Sang Woo will helm the forthcoming drama. His hit dramas include “The Forbidden Marriage,” “Never Twice,” and “Terius Behind Me.” Meanwhile writer Kim Ji Woon will be responsible for the script. Kim Ji Woon’s previous works include the popular dramas “Hyde, Jekyll, Me,” “Doctor John,” and “Melancholia.” Additionally, Bon Factory and Baram Pictures will be responsible for the drama’s production.
An MBC drama official stated, “The Number You Have Dialed” is a unique production. It depicts a show window couple who fall in love after threatening calls. The content of the drama is diverse and engaging, ranging from mystery to romance. The original story has been enriched with intriguing elements, making it an irresistible tale. It is anticipated that the beloved actors Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin, who will be taking on the lead roles, will captivate viewers with their unique charms, showcasing strong confidence in the drama.”
The upcoming Korean drama “The Number You Have Dialed” will have 12 episodes and air every Friday-Saturday drama on MBC.
